Finding Page Ideas for EPN Websites

Dear Fellow HubPage members and affiliate marketers:

Over the past few months there have been many reports that eBay Partner Network is moving to a business model where their affiliate marketers will have to link to eBay directly from websites that they own. This poses a huge problem for EPN members who have been linking from capsule boxes in sites like HubPages, Squidoo and Blogger blogs. In this series of Hubs I'll try my hardest to walk you through of the process of making your own eBay Partner Network website. At first the steps involved seem very daunting. But, once you get the hang of it you'll be able to bang out your own websites really easily.

Picking a niche to market in EPN - the choices are endless

Below I've posted a YouTube video tutorial which teaches you how to come up with ideas for pages of your eBay Partner Network website. Let to your own means it's sometimes hard to come up with ideas. On EPN you can pick any niche you want. Some people like big-ticket niches (Rolex watches, cars etc) while some people like cheaper items. Personally, I like to mix it up a bit.

This video tutorial shows you how to find ideas for your content pages

In this video tutorial you'll learn to find the appropriate category for your niche then scroll through eBay's pages to find ideas for website pages. It's very important that you do this in advance of building your website. Otherwise your site might get extremely disorganized and the search engines simply won't like it. In the beginning I recommend to make 10-page websites. Why? Because a 10-page site is very easy to manage. If you start out with a 200-page site you'll go bezerk and want to quit. Once your 10-page site is indexed by the search engines you can start adding more pages (Google wants you to constantly add more pages to your website, which can be a drag).

Go ahead and watch the video - If you have any questions please let me know in the comments section. Thanks.

Luckily I have my own websites in addition to hubs, so I can still market Ebay. But they've just raised their payout threshold. I'm starting to wonder if they really want to have an affiliate program. And am starting to be leery about spending alot of time writing copy to market their products.

David,

Are you referring to BANS? I've bought that software and have tons of ideas but eBay Partner Network turned me down as an affiliate. Think I need to develop my website more to be approved. I will be watching this hub, good and timely info.

THANKS!

Nelle - I also heard about them raising their payment threshold. Can u tell me exactly what that means? I was too lazy to look into it!

Carolan - There are two tools that most people use to make EPN websites: BANS and another wordpress plugin which i'll elaborate on in future hubs. Yes, you should have a website with some good content on it to get approved.

Thanks for your comments Nelle & Carolan!!! david

Yes! I have applied twice for EBAY and the second time they never even answered me. Their standards must be too high for me to join. Great hub. regards brownlickie

Hi Linda - You've fast become such a nice commenter! I'm touched. Thanks!

Brownlickie - I don't know what's going on w/ebay and why they're so slow to accept new applications. I guess u can just keep trying and keep emailing them.

thanks, david

very informative. do you have any tips on how to get approved on EPN a high % of the time? My understanding was that once approved on EPN, then you could use those links on any of your websites -- is that not the case?

thanks again for the posts.
