Having people know every time that you visit their profile can be somewhat off-putting, in fact it can ruin some peoples experience of Myspace and probably goes against some basic morals. We don't know when people think or talk about us away from computers, and often that is nothing but a good thing. The good news is that there are apparently ways of blocking these trackers, making your experience more comfortable (or for the freaks..... it means you can stalk in peace). Read on to find out how to block Myspace trackers...... By the way, I have no idea whether or not these work and have no desire to find out, so you will just how to try them and let me know in the comments!

• 1. Go to this websiteand save their text file list of Myspace tracker URL's.
• 2. If you haven't already, you need to install firefox
• 3. Then you need to install in firefox addon 'adblock plus', which you can also download from here.
• 4. Go to 'Tools' at the top of firefox where you will find Adblock plus - click on this
• 5. From the main adblock screen, which should now have appeared, you can 'Add Filter' and enter the URL of the desired tracker for blocking.
• 6. You can actually import every URL on that .txt file at the same time (the one from step 1), by clicking on the 'filters' tab and selecting 'import filters'.

That's it, your done. How does it work? Adblock has the ability to filter out any links which are specified on a page. It prevents your selected filtered tags and URLs from loading, meaning that no information can be passed on from your computer to the tracker. Therefore your vain and nosey friends, who feel the need to know exactly when you have visited, your operating system, your browser and your ip address....... well, they just cant find this out about you again.
