How To Get Free iPhone Games
72
Perhaps the most surprising thing for me about the iPhone is the sheer quality of some of the games that you can get for it, and the quantity available! I have a feeling that the iPhone is effectively working towards making the Nintendo DS redundant and perhaps in future models will do the same to the PSP; which the pace that Apple are developing its technology, maybe even PC quality games in a few years; they already have the hard drive and the graphics. The major setback for iPhone gaming is the lack of flash capabilities, so games are generally scripted with javascript/ajax. Anyway, I have been on a huge hunt for free iPhone games and, as a result, here is a list of my findings.
iPhoneGold.org
iPhoneGold.orghas a list of 126 completely free iPhone games to download, in fact they call that list "125 Free iPhone Games"; so somebody there isn't great at maths. Anyway, there is a wide variety of absolute classics things like Darts, Battleship, Bejeweled, a few Chess games, Minesweeper, Othello, Scrabble, Sudoku, Tetris, Tic Tac Toe and Virtual Pets. The games on this site seem more simple and less developed than many games available for the iPhone, but they are still addictive and what can you expect for free?
freemobilephonegames.co.uk
This is another site that I found, this one has a few better quality games for download. THIS LINK shows you a list of the top ten free games as well as another list of lots of other games. Free iPhone games on this site include 'Deer Hunter 3D', 'iMobsters', 'iDork', 'Paper Toss' (This games is seriously quality, you must find Paper Toss!), 'World War' and 'Crack the Code'. There are some seriously good games to be found in that top ten!
ipfun.org
http://www.ipfun.org/is basically a website which allows you to play iPhone games from your computer, but also doubles up as a way of playing those games on your iPod touch or your iPhone. The site is enabled for iPhone size and resolution, meaning that you can play these games directly from your Safari browser!
And THE BEST FOR LAST........
148apps.comIs the complete list of the best free iPhone games, in a chart from 1st - 148th, taken directly from the number of downloads from the iTunes store in the previous 24 hours! You can download all 148 iPhone games directly from this site to your iTunes player and then synchronize them straight to your iPhone. You MUST see this site if you are looking for the best free games, as this is almost like a Billboard 200 but for games. At the moment, as I write this, the most downloaded game from iTunes in the last 24 hours was a game called 'Waterslide Extreme' whilst my favourite game 'Paper Toss' is 7th in the free iPhone games chart! See the chart in the RSS feed below which will tell you the free game at number 1 in real time for the past 24 hours!
