How To Make Money Online Marketing
58Learn the traits of successful online marketers
Don't ask how much money are you making online
I
was recently approached by several newcomers to HubPages asking how
much money I make per month with AdSense and eBay on this site. I don't
know if these people are looking to get rich quick or are looking to
just make money fast online. Anyways, I was shocked. Let me explain
why. I was brought up by a family of modest means in the United States
of America. Growing up I was taught by my parents to never ask somebody
else how much money they make. I would never approach another online
marketer and ask how much money they were making online. So, when I was
asked how much money I'm making on the Internet I felt very weird.
To make money online you must observe successful online marketers' traits
These people seemed to want to know the secrets to making money online. I thank them for asking me these questions because it inspired me to write this hub about how to get rich doing online marketing. If you have any feelings about this feel free to share them in the comments section below!
All my life I have been a big observer of other
people. And on the Internet when it comes to making money I'm a huge
observer of affiliate marketers who seem to be making lots of money. At
the same time I'm a big observer of online marketers who don't seem to
be doing so well. I believe the key to being successful on the Internet
is to observe and emulate the traits of successful online marketers.
The traits of unsuccessful online marketers
There
are so many online markets who are most likely flat out broke. I
believe that they all share some common traits and would like to share
them with you here. I'm 100% sure you have come across people like this
in your online marketing career.
- Guys who are lousy at online marketing are constantly bragging about how much money they make online. They'll throw out huge numbers that will make your head spin. "I'm making $6,000 per month online. I'm making $10,000 per month online"...YEAH RIGHT!
- These guys put "bling" on their social networking site profiles. By this I mean that these guys (note guys means guys and gals!!!) usually put up images of money, fast cars, fast boats and mansions on their YouTube, Facebook and Twitter profiles. If you see a "bling profile" it's an immediate tip-off that somebody isn't making very much money online. Sorry, Joe Millionaire!
- Unsuccessful online marketers are usually peddling online scams. By this I mean that they are usually linking their websites and blog posts to any number of ClickBank's get rich quick ebook scams. These scams usually include stuff like forex trading robots, magical Twitter machines that will make you rich quick etc. You see, they're desperate. So, to make a quick buck they engage in playing on other online marketers' desperateness to get their money.
How to get rich online
Here's
the core of my hub where I'll talk about the traits of rich online
marketers. These are people who I've observed who are most likely
extremely rich and have made a fortune online. I have noticed some
common traits among these online money making winners and would like to
share them here.
- They either provide content that is extremely entertaining, extremely useful for making money online or a combination of the two. These guys "get" Google and YouTube so the content they provide is ALWAYS ORIGINAL and not copied or re-hashed.
- They are masters of social marketing sites including YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. By this I mean that they usually have thousands of subscribers. They have reached this number of subscribers because of train number one: they provide useful interesting and original content.
- Successful online marketers are HUMBLE. They will never show you their house our their car. They will never come out and say how much money they're making. They are diligent and continuously pump out amazingly useful content.
- Rich online marketers don't try to sell you get rich quick scams. However, the consistently provide you with ideas and methods that can help you to be successful in your own online business and make money from home.
How can I be a successful online marketer?
Okay,
now you're asking me - These rich guys are HUGE. They have millions of
followers and I can never make a website with so many in-links etc. How
can I ever make money like them? The answer is simple. If you look at
my profile page
here you'll see that I point out that each and every one of us
possesses our own special kind of intellect in some sort of way and can
bring something to the money-making table called the Internet. As an
online marketer you can emulate these big rich guys by reaching inside
yourself and finding whatever value-added information you have to share
that other people can benefit from financially.
Step 1 to making money online: Share your knowledge!
I'll
leave you with these parting words. The Internet is a big place and all
of us can make money here. When you discover a new way to make money
online or a new way to drive traffic to your blogs or websites SHARE it
with the rest of the world! By sharing your knowledge and giving
something back you'll be one step closer to getting rich online.
I hope this hub has helped and inspired you in some sort of way. I look forward to reading your comments below.

hey derek - thanks very much for the comment. i liked how u mentioned that online marketing products only tell u part of the story before u buy then u find out the rest. and, how u can usually find out what they're teaching on your own if u spend the time. tks again for the kind comment!
This is great advice. I believe alot of people are looking for a way to get rich without doing any work. However, you have to work hard to make things happen. Thank you for all of your knowledge that you share. I have learned alot about affiliate marketing from your hubs and look forward to your next one.
hi useful knowledge - wow - thanks for the kind comments! yes, online marketing is a ton of work. cheers!
As someone looking for the knowledge that comes from having the time to oberve, I appreciate your hubs and your willingness to share what you've already learned. I have learned a lot from you already and look forward to watching you continue to grow as you apply your own advice.
I'd also like to comment on what I call "teasers" . You think you've found someone willing to impart knowledge, but then you find it is available only up to a point. You have to sign up or buy something to learn the rest. It turns me off because someone successful shouldn't have to trick you into buying a product.
Anyway, another thumbs up from me on this article, thanks!
Hi Jen - I agree w/you 100%. I can't stand teasers either. They're hogwash. If that person was truely sincere they'd just teach you what to do. Anyways, thanks for the positive feedback! That's GREAT :-)
This "teaser" marketing has been around before IM times. 20 years ago I went to buy a $100.00 stereo. Next to it was a $300.00 stereo and next to that was a $800.00 stereo and the grand daddy was $2000.00. Well, as the good consumer I was I walked out with the 2K stereo which just barely fit in my one bedroom apt. The point is the range of emotions (need to greed) that marketers use today basically hasn't changed from years ago which consumers still go for.
In romantic situations it starts with a smile or wink, in fishing it starts with a lure or worms, in IM it starts with a need or want. Watch the infomercials on cable, what a lesson you can learn. You see the same pitches over and over until they milk the cow dry, then here comes the next wave of what's hot this quarter.
Here is something I heard that I will leave you with "When everyone is looking for the gold, be the one selling the shovels"
Regards...
Hi rb11 - As always, great comment and thank you adding it here. funny how things don't change - 20 years ago they got you to buy the 2k sterio using psychology tactics. there are some tailors a few doors down from me. a few years ago they got me to purchase a ton of shirts i never even needed using need and greed tactics as well. anyways, as a consumer i only buy when i want and i like it when i'm the one who decides whether i need or want or not, not them. anyways, thanks again for your comment!
Well Dawei, your word is true...in the real world, you have to use physical to earn a living but in virtual world it does the same...still need alot of physical to create such an informative and persuasive reading contents to attract buyers to buy your products...but one thing that I want to share with all of you, once we do virtual or during we go online, we tend to stray away from doing the job, the focus tend to be blur. For example, when we are publishing our business website, on the same time, we open up another tab of IE and surf the porns...I believe most of the webmaster do it. Agree with me anyone?
hi XFuze - Ha! Funny comment. I try my hardest to keep my mind on the task at hand! Many thanks, dawei888
Another great article from the great dawei888, Thanks!

great hub i agree with dawei88 affiliate marketing is a ton of work. But it can potentially make you a ton of money if your motivated, and don't give up thats the key to success in everything in life! Great hub thanks!
hi jayorban - thanks so much for your inspiring comment. dawei888
"Step 1 to making money online: Share your knowledge!" Well said dawei, but you'll rarely find people who share real useful information on the net. You on the other hand, you really do enjoy sharing your knowledge and that's very big of you.
hi ajm5050 - thanks! when i first started out there two guys on youtube who shared a ton of stuff back without charging a dime. i learned a ton from them. so, now i'm doing the same thing. i've found a lot of happiness in giving back and have enjoyed making new friends at the same time! thanks so much again! dawei888
You are truley an incrediable man, your honesty and your sincerety really shines. Thank you for being you. goodfriendiam

Great hub dawei888. As someone who does some online marketing, it is key to know that everyone has some potential to do it, but the drive and knowledge must be there. Great input

Interesting hub. There is no doubt there is far too much hype in the internet marketing niche. I've no doubt that many people who do shout about their cars and toys do actually have them and I suppose it sereves to show their potential buyers trhey are successful.
I don't really have a problem with that.
What I do have a problem with is the way many products (and IM is the worst market) only give you a part of the story. You the need to buy a procession of ever more expensive products to get the full story!
And, what's more, most of the stuff these products teach, you can find out for yourself...although I accept it would take you a very long time :>)
For my money, I agrre, the answer is to teach specialist knowledge you have. Then learn one facet of marketing online at a time, and learn in detail, become highly proficient in that area then move on to the next area. So, for example, if you decide on PPC to drive you traffic, become a PPC expert and be making good money using PPCbefore you learn about, say, social media.
You know it makes sense.
Cheers
