How to Get Rid of Lower Back Pain

Once an injury to the spine has occurred, regular, often persistent back pain can follow; finding a back pain relief remedy is probably important to you and whilst there isn't a cure as yet, some treatments can help sufferers. Although some medication may be effective and bring pain relief, it doesn't really help with the underlying problem of the condition causing the distress. Medication should be used sparingly and under the strict supervision of a medical professional.

Back pain is often caused by muscle strain and repeated strenuous exercises; poor posture can also result in damage to the back and can happen when a person is quite young. Most spinal problems are a result of lifting heavy weights but they can also be caused by lifting even light weights incorrectly, the pain is usually experienced in the lower back. Many people are now turning to other methods of gaining back pain relief which do not include the use of drugs.

Stretching can be effective at reducing back as it relaxes the muscles which are often tense. Another type of treatment called reflexology uses a massage technique applied to the feet; some people are now discovering its benefits as a back pain remedy. Reflexology can also help to improve the body's blood circulation and relax muscles.

Acupuncture is used frequently by people suffering spinal agony by giving them back pain relief just as it has for thousands of years, although, only recently in the West. Followers of traditional Chinese medicine are of the belief that every person has an inner energy force (chi) that reflects of our state of health, mental and physical. By using thin needles placed into the body at specific points, they can free this trapped (unhealthy) energy. Like reflexology, acupuncture seems to be used by people who suffer with chronic conditions like back pain which requires relief.

Relief can also come from another Chinese treatment like tai chi which is a form of yoga but not so strenuous. Tai Chi is however very gentle and easily performed by young and older people. It focuses on breathing exercises with additional stretching movements. In addition to these methods to natural back pain relief, exercise can also help to relieve back pain; by exercising regularly there is less chance of a back pain attack.

Exercise is the best way to get rid of back pain in most cases.Medication is often too expensive to pay for every month and it is not good for you body. There are many exercise plans available on the Internet that are affordable and easily found. One program is "The Guide To Back Pain Relief" by Mike Stiveson (Back Pain Relief Expert). If 68% of back pain can be cured by exercise it is definitely worth looking into. Also remember to talk to your doctor to make sure your back problems are not related to any other problem.
