How To Stop The Shine?

Oily skin can be very irritating, it makes us look tired, not fresh, greasy and of-course shiny. The shine is an outcome of excess oil production of the skin, the production can even be higher when its hot and especially when the humidity is high. This skin type "behave" better only in cool dry weather.

Oily skin normally starts at puberty and can continue until our thirties and even forties, but there's a good side to all of this - this skin type ages well since the oil lubricate the skin protect it from environmental damages.

Tips For Oily Skin

  1. Cleansing -first and formost keep your skin clean. It will reduce the breakouts caused by the oil, clean the pores and if it's good, it will help to fight the sebum production. It is recommended to wash twice a day and not more, since it can arrowse the skin to produce more oil. Use cleansers for oily skin that doesn't contain alcohol and doesn't leave your skin dry and tight. recomended cleanser: La Roche-Posay Biomedic Purifying Cleanser

  2. Moisturizing - after cleansing it is very important to moisturise. There's a misconception that people with oily skin shouldn't use moisturizer since it clogs the pores and creates even more shine. That conception couldn't be more wrong, not moisturizing after cleansing will cause the skin to produce even more oil since the cleansing process strips down the oils from the face, this will only irritate the skin to produce more oil than before. Using water based moisturizers recommended for oily skin will not clog the pores and will help to control and even-out the oil production.
  3. Products For shine prevention and matte look - these products can make a big diffrence. They are mostly concentrated sreums that helps tighten the pores and stop the sebum production that causes the shine and oil on the nose and forhead (also known as t-zone). Some products are better than others. You can find more information and recommendations Here.
