How are you going to get traffic to your blog? You can either write articles or use ads. The secret is in ranking high within the search engines.

If you want to rank high in the search engines you need to build up backlinks. The more the merrier.

There are three common ways to go about this. One of them is to buy ads, usually pay per click. The next one is to write articles and manually submit them to as many different directories as you can and the third on is to buy backlinks to your blog.

If you are going to use pay per click then you need to make sure that your keywords are optimized and target to the audience you are trying to get.  If they are not you could very well lose a ton of money.

If buying links sounds like a good idea just keep in mind that not all links are created equal.  When you buy links they have to come from high PR sites or they won't help you very much.  Buying high PR links can cost a lot of money.

You also want the category of the blog that is linking to yours to be the same as your blog.  The more related the site is to yours the more that backlink is going to count and the higher it will get you in the search engines.

When article marketing, if you are looking for mass amounts of traffic to your blog then you need to submit mass amounts of articles. Article marketing is good for two things. Number one being that it gives people a sample of what you have to say. When people like the information they are reading they will click over to your blog to see what else you have. The second is that when you submit articles you put them in what category you want them in. This will give you good related backlinks.

You can also write and manually submit your articles to directories for free. Most article directories don't charge you to submit your article and you can use the author resource box to put your links to your blog in. Generally you can use two links in an article resource box.
