Hubpages is a great website that enables you to do many things. Traffic is pretty much when people visit your hubs. The more traffic, the better your hubs and you as a hubber are. Most hubbers focus on getting traffic to their hubs through other websites. This is very helpful, even I do it, but, Hubpages is also a great way to get traffic to your hubs. A couple ways to get traffic to your hubs through right here on Hubpages follow.

Become Someone's Fan

Hubbers can become 'fans' of other hubbers. Once someone becomes a fan of you, you should also become a fan other them. When someone becomes a fan of you, they receive notifications everytime you publish a new hub. This gives them a chance to visit that hub if it looks interesting. Also, you can become someone else's fan. When you become someone else's fan, they are aware that you became their fan. When they see that, they too will most likely become your fan. Fan mail also brings in some traffic. When you become a fan of someone or someone becomes a fan of you, you can leave that person fan mail. Fan mail enables you to leave a short message to the person you became a fan of. If you have written similar hubs, let that hubber know and the hubber might go and visit those hubs.

Forums

The Hubpages forums is also a way to generate traffic to your hubs. There is different types of forums, so you can write on a variety of topics, or just one forum, such as automotive, that you have written hubs on that topic. By writing on these forums, you can get the message out that you write hubs on these topics. When you do so, people wil visit your hubs and you will get traffic. You can also post your hub's URL on the forum topic post, but I did that one time and it got taken off, so I wouldn't do it. Just tell the fellow hubbers that you have written hubs on that topic and they can very easily visit those hubs. The forums also allows you to just get to know and talk with other hubbers. You can get to become friends with them and become fans of each other.

Topics

Each hub is placed in a topic. A topic is just a collection of hubs about one certain thing. If you write hubs about on certain topics, they maybe featured under the name of the topic under the 'topics' tab. People will see this and visit your hub about that topic.

Comments

When you read a hub, you have the option to comment on that hub. You can say basically whatever you want, for example "good job" of "nice hub". The hubber will have to see that you wrote the comment because the hubber must accept or deny the comment. When someone leaves a comment on my hub, I will usually go and become their fan to be nice to them for being nice to me. If you leave alot of comments, you will get alot of fans. And what happens when you publish a new hub? Those fans get to see that you just created a new hub!
