If your love life has hit a rut and you are wistfully remembering the hot sex that you and your partner had while on vacation here is how you can get those feelings back, without ever having to leave home.

Nowdays gas prices and airline fares are making many of us think twice about taking a vacation. As the summer winds down we feel that something is missing from our love life, that fabulous "vacation sex" we were expecting this summer.

Start by discussing the idea of having a "home vacation". Set a weekend date for it and clear your calendar. Tell friends and family that you will be away on business, etc from friday to Sunday evening.

If you are lucky enough to have a pool it helps. If you don't, get in touch with your inner child and get a large kiddie pool and set it up in the back yard.

If you have nosy neighbors, buy a roll of 6' bamboo privacy screen and make a private area on your back deck. Put on the Hawaiin shorts or bikini or nothing at all and act like you don't have a care in the world.

Visit the liquor store and stock up on tropical drink mixes for Pina Colada, rum punch, margaritas, etc. Set up the blender in an area you have decorated to look like a beach bar and don't forget those little umbrellas for your drinks, the liquor store has them.

Get a couple of comfy lounge chairs and set them up in your beach area. Don't forget the coconut smelling suntan lotion, it will put your nose in the vacation mode.

Stock up on dips, chips, chains and whips. (Sorry to steal a line from an old movie.) Seriously though, get every kind of munchie that you might find in an all inclusive buffet, pizza, wings, sandwiches, etc so you won't have to cook and a few love toys if you like that sort of thing.

If you have a garage park your cars inside so that neighbors and others will not know you're home. Keep your curtains closed and try not to let the secret get out that you are at home.

You and your lover should try to stay naked and inebriated as much as possible. Break out the adult videos, toys, and massage oils. Give each other back rubs or have a masseuse visit for a professional Swedish massage for the both of you.

Use incense and air freshener with tropical scents to help make the island fantasy more real. Put some Jimmy Buffet or island reggae on the stereo or tune in to a streaming internet island radio station from Jamacia or Latin America.

This little plan can work if both of you buy into it and resist the temptation to return to normal household routine and that even means avoiding watching TV unless that is what you do while on vacation in the islands.
