French Toast - A Tasty Breakfast Food

Are you kind of new to cooking?  Need to know how to make french toast?  French toast is a very simple, but tasty breakfast food that can also be lunch or dinner.  There isn't much to french toast, but it can be a fairly nutritious food.  Basically, french toast is just eggs and bread.  You kind of have to try to mess up making french toast.

How To Make French Toast - Ingredients

The ingredients necessary to make french toast are:

  • eggs
  • bread (doesn't matter what kind - I use whole wheat)
  • cooking oil (or butter)
  • cinnamon
  • milk

How To Make French Toast - Directions

To begin, use a bowl large enough to fit the eggs and a slice of bread. Add the eggs to the bowl. Some people add milk to this mixture (personally I don't).  It's all preference.  Add cinnamon (I usually use about 1/4 tsp per 5 eggs). Beat or whisk eggs until bubbles begin to form.

Bread is very important. Make sure your bread is fresh because you will be able to tell when you eat it. However, fresh bread has a tendency to try and break apart when coated with egg mixture, so be careful.

Heat an electric frying pan to 325 degrees or set a pan on a stove top to medium heat. Add a thin layer of oil (or butter) and make sure it coats the entire pan.

Put a slice of bread in the egg mixture. Flip and coat the other side the same amount of time. Place the coated pieces of bread into the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides.
