How To Make Fun And Simple Paper Crafts
78I love to make crafts and many of these are girly, but of course all crafts can be tailored to a boy's taste. However, I think there is a niche for girly crafts and I enjoy writing about this topic, so I have decided to produce yet another how-to Hub on how to make simple and fun paper crafts. In this Hub I will show you how to make a simple paper fan and a fun stationery. The other day I saw a beautiful fan in a store window, which reminded me of how much fun I used to have creating paper fans, which are an economical way to beat the heat on a humid summer day. Tie a bow on the end of a paper fan and it looks much more fancy than just a simple paper craft, so the sky is the limit when it comes to embellishing your paper creations. The second craft I will be making on this Hub is a unique type of stationery, which requires coin or another object you can color over to create an impression. Stay tuned to find out how to make a paper fan and unique stationery.
Making The Paper Fan
Step One: Fold A Small Section Of The Paper Over
Fold a small section of the paper over. You can take a ruler and pre-measure all of the sections to fold, but I find it easier to just eye ball it. I fold approximately half-inch or inch section of paper over.
Step Two: Fold A Section Of The Paper Under
Fold the paper by one half-inch to an inch. When folding the paper under it needs to line up exactly with the first fold. Continue folding over and under until the entire page is folded into a fan.
Step 3: Secure The Fan With Tape
Secure the end of the fan with tape and then make a second paper fan. The two paper fans will be put together to make a larger fan. Make more than two paper fans to create an even larger paper fan.
Final Step: Use A Ribbon To Tie The Paper Fans Together
Use a ribbon to tie the two paper fans together. Make more than two paper fans if you would like a larger fan. Use a pretty ribbon to tie the fans together to add some flair.
Make Unique Stationery
Make Stationery With Blank Paper, Colored Pencils, And Coins
Tape a piece a paper to a desk and place a coin underneath. The coin can also be taped to the desk to secure it in place. Use a colored pencil and color over the coin on the piece of paper to create an impression. Use different colors and move the coin around to create a variety of impressions. Many other objects such as leaves can be used to make interesting and fun designs. The YouTube video below will demonstrate how to make this unique stationery by using colored pencils and coins. Have fun making fun and simple paper crafts!

very cute ideas :)
Constant Walker,
Origami is fun. Have you written any hubs about it?
Starrkissed,
Thanks for the nice comments.
Nope. Haven't written an origami hub. I only know how to do a few characters.
Oh my I have been making stationary for years and as gifts too. Just love to express myself in that way..even decorated each envelope to match...was much fun..thanks for the reminder...now I am into cards...all hand painted and/or crafted...great hub my sweet one..G-Ma :o) hugs
I am sure your cards are just beautiful G-Ma. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Nice, Fun, Simple & Creative Hub;)
Thanks for stopping by multimastery.
SweetiePie,
This was a fun write. Took me back to when I use to have the boys make lots of Christmas cards and we would make the envelopes too. They had fun with it and the Grandmas thought they were making them in school. Thanks for making me smile. C.S.
Thanks for stopping by C.S. Alexis and I am glad I brought back fond memories. Sounds like your story would make a great hub :).
SweetiePie - your hub reminded me of how much a love to receive cards and letters from my creative friends. Now I want to give it a try myself! I find that whenever I do crafts, it evokes all those wonderful and creative childhood feelings. Thanks for sharing!
I love to make crafts so much, so I understand where you are coming from BizzyMuse. The simple things in life such as making crafts now guide my daily activities. Hubbing, crafting, writing, spending time with family is much more important than any of the more complicated things in life.
I love anything fun and simple. I love how you used pretty paper and added ribbon to your fan. I've made a ton of these when my kids were little. A great fun and simple thing to do on a hot summers day! I've never made my own stationery but you made it again look fun and simple. I'll have to give it a try!
You're Welcome, and Thanks for stopping by SweetiePie, tried to respond back to you via FanMail but your comment box doesn't show. I've noticed this on some other hubs too, oh well. Happy Hubbing!
Thanks for commenting multimastery. Maybe it is your Internet service provider as I do not seem to have this problems.
Fans! Never too girly - one of those things we don't see much except in antique stores - You could combine the stationery idea with the fans - voila! Also Lace is good to burnish onto paper for all kinds of things - love the way you got me started thinking up things - Thanks!
Mega,
I love the idea of the lace and the burnishing. Your creative ideas sound fun!

I remember doing a few of these things in school - 1st or 2nd grade, I think. But, not since. I like doing origami, though!
