Remember, just because there is a presale doesn't mean that you are guaranteed to make a profit from your tickets. You need to take the following factors into consideration:

1. What are the chances of the show selling out?

If the show is one that will most likely sell out, this really increases your odds of making a profit. If you buy tickets to a show that does not sell out then you may be out of luck unless the seats are really good.

2. How big is the venue in relationship to the performer?

This is critical when it comes to choosing which presales to tackle. Do not buy tickets to shows that have bands of mediocre popularity that are performing in an arena. A good example that occurred recently was when Green Day was playing small venues in the Bay Area to ramp up for their summer tour. That is a perfect combo! Huge band in a small venue means great demand. A poor example is buying tickets for Fall Out Boy in a venue such as a basketball arena.

3. Look at the location of the seats before completing the purchase!

I have participated in many presales where I didn't pull the trigger because I didn't feel my seats were good enough to make any real profit. People are only willing to pay high prices if the seats are close or the show is sold out! Don't just buy any seats unless you actually want to go to the show.

4. The worst case isn't so bad.

Remember, the worst case scenario is that you end up going to the show or selling the tickets for what you bought them for to some friends.
