With summer approaching, teens are looking for ways to make extra money. Depending on their ages, many can work at the mall or in a fast food restaurant or shopping center. For those just under the normal age of sixteen though, here are tips on how to make money for teens.

One of the diehard ways of old that is still popular today is babysitting. If it is summer time, teens can babysit during the day as well as evenings. While traditionally girls were viewed as babysitters quite a few boys have stepped up to the plate as well and enjoyed spending time with younger siblings or neighbors in a babysitting structure.

Another popular way for a teen to make money is doing lawn care. Busy adults will gladly pay a teen to mow and rake the yard and keep it free of clutter. They may even invite you to do a little housework for them while you are at it. This could be a nice bit of cash for a few hours work. I had a friend growing up who bought a lawn mower when he was about 12 years old. He started mowing lawns around town. By the time he was 18 he had more than one riding lawn mower and people working for him. It's never a bad idea to start a business, even if you're a teen.

Teens can group together to have a yard sale. They outgrow clothes, get bored with old toys and can take advantage of this to make a little money having a yard sale. These sales are popular in the spring and summer and quite a bit of money can be made. Usually the whole family will donate clothes for this kind of thing.

Car washes are not just for fundraisers although what better way to raise some funds than offering your services detailing and washing cars? Again, busy people do not want to spend the time taking care of these little inconveniences but they want things to look good. I've seen car washes where the people will do the wash for free and then ask for donations. This sometimes works great for fundraisers.

So whether you are doing the job on your own or with a friend or two, you can help these adults make things a little easier in their lives by helping them with some cleaning or tending to their most valuable assets, their children, home and car.
