However, these appraisals can often be unreliable and it might be better for you to just estimate what your domain is probably worth and put it up at that price.

Selling domains on eBay - Categories are very easy to select

To set up your acution click on "Sell" then drag down to "Sell an Item" on your eBay dashboard. Where it says "Sell Your Stuff on eBay" click on "Start Selling". Next you'll have to find a suitable category. Simply type in "Domain Name" and then hit search. Then check the box for .info, .com, .net or "other".

Put the key words related to the domain in your auction title

The next step is to pick the title for your eBay domain name auction. Here you need to be very careful. I would advise putting the actual domain name here. In your title you want to put in the key words that your domain name is about. For example (just an example!!!) if my domain were www.FloridaOranges.com i would not put that in as my title. Then, in the subtitle you may include something like: "Urgent: Buy www.FloridaOranges.com before it's gone!".

Your actual auction content does not have to be fancy. On the first line I would repeat my title or make a slight variation of it using more key words. You will want to put these in big letters. If you use your own HTML editor make these words in H1 tags so the search engines pick up on the words more easily.

And you'll have write in the description that the potential buyer must provide his GoDaddy.com account number and the e-mail associated with that account in the checkout comment box when buying the domain. That way once the sale is done you'll be able to simply transfer the ownership of the domain to the buyer in your GoDaddy control panel once your auction is finished.

When it comes to pricing you will have two choices: Buy it Now (BIN) or auction. To use Buy it Now I believe you must have an eBay score of over 10. Regarding the selling of domains on eBay, most sellers use Buy it Now then give the buyer a chance to submit a Best Offer. You may set price limits for which prices level offers you accept and which price level offers you reject.

Remember not to link your domain to anywhere outside your auction

When you put your domain name in your auction do not actually link it to the URL or anywhere off of your eBay auction page. The reason for this is that you're not supposed to put links to off-eBay sites in your auction pages.

Most domain sellers use the 30-day option

You'll also have to decide on a time frame for your auction. I recommend using the 30 day auction because it gives you the longest exposure. Another tip: before you start your auction look at the calandar to make sure you're including as many weekends as possible because that's when your potential buyers will be browsing the web.
