White Hat refers to methods that are considered "clean". These are the methods that are

Black Hat refers to methods that are considered "dirty". These methods push the limits

Some can even be illegal. With Black Hat techniques the ends justify the means.

I've decided to cover both White and Black Hat techniques in this lens in an attempt to

educate readers of this Lens.

Sometimes a creative mind can take a technique that is Black Hat and put a White Hat "spin" on it.

I also think it is important for White Hatters to know what Black Hat techniques are out there,

so they can better learn how to protect themselves and their business from these Black Hat

Pros and Cons of White Hat The pros with White Hat are simple. You never have to worry about getting in trouble with White Hat techniques. Using White Hat techniques, you never put your business in jeopardy. Many people sleep much better at night by sticking to White Hat techniques. The downside of White Hat is that sometimes the results of White Hat techniques aren't as powerful as the results from using Black Hat techniques. This isn't always the case.

Pros and Cons of Black Hat

The obvious cons of Black Hat are the possibility of having your efforts disappear at the sna of a finger when someone catches on and/or puts an end to your Black Hat techniques. Another con is the possible legal ramifications of Black Hat. The pros of Black Hat? Well, sometimes Black Hat methods are SO effective that the rewards make the risks easier to

take.
