Natural Lavender Shampoo for Dreads or Braids

This recipe can be adjusted to any fragrance you like. You can bottle natural shampoos and give them as natural wonderful gifts. Every time your happy recipient smells their braided or dreadlocked hair they will think of you!

This natural shampoo can be used in chemically relaxed hair, just follow up with cream detangler.

Ingredients

  • water
  • lavender
  • glycerin
  • shampoo base
  • lavender essential oil

The lavender aroma causes relaxation and relieves stress while soothing the scalp. These ingredients can be bought from all natural stores.

Recipe

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup fresh "lavender"

2 tablespoons of "glycerin"

1/2 cup "Natural Shampoo Base"

5 drops of lavender essential oil

Method:

Mix water and lavender together into a heavy pot and bring to a boil.

Let boil gently for at least 15-20 minutes.

Let cool slightly and add basic shampoo mixture and glycerin slowly to herbal mixture.

Mix well.

Carefully pour shampoo into container and let sit for a few days to allow the mixture to thicken up.
