Have you noticed any changes lately? Is your computer running too slow, taking too much time to boot, accessing files and programs is a lot harder than before? Everyone can go over this and I am one of the them. No matter you use your computer on daily basis or just two times a week it should be working smoothly at it`s real capacities and be efficient for any of your needs. There are some simple ways to make your computer run faster that I will list below. Based on my experience the main factors that determine computers to run slow are viruses, spy-wares and malicious software that are used to track and save statistics about several websites.

Maintenance - Viruses - Spy-wares

Is your computer running too slow ? Does it take too much time to boot ? Is your browser not loading pages as usual? Whereas before it was quick as a rabbit? Are you wondering, "How to make your computer run faster ?"If your computer is running at turtle speed, you have come to the right place. In this article, I will outline three simple steps that you have to follow to make your computer run faster and more efficiently for your any of your needs.

Step #1 - Maintain Your Computer. Are you ready to get started? Great! The first thing you need to think about is the amount of websites that you visit on a daily basis. Did you know that with each website that you visit, you are literally downloading some files in efforts to make your computer load them faster the next time you want to access that same website? You are also downloading cookies from websites and saving a history of each site you visit.Cookies in general tend to slow your browser down and not only, but your computer as well.

All of these can dramatically affect your computer's speed and slow it down if you do not do something about it. So, to get rid of these things, you should make sure you follow the following few steps in order to clean any software or malicious spy-wares and viruses that might slow your computer. You can do this simply by making sure that you delete temporary files, browsing history, cookies, and empty out the recycle bin of your computer. This should be done regularly, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. In fact, some people perform this maintenance daily. There is no other way to have your computer work at its real capacities, as technology advanced there are more and more ways to affect computers, especially when being online. Several giant sites will send out several ad-wares and spy-wares in their benefit, mainly to keep track information about users behavior, location, shopping and surfing habits.

Recycle What You Don`t Need

Why keep installed programs/applications/games/files that you don`t even need. They will only make your computer run slower in most of the cases, where there is no much storage space left. Remove any of the above that you don`t regularly use. Do not just delete them, use the Remove Programs section in your Control Panel to remove all the unwanted applications or files.

On the right hand side of your desktop you will notice some small icons every time you log on to your computer, those are all the application running each and every time you turn your computer on. Make sure you need all the applications there or close the ones you don`t really need. Most of them are set to run once you log-on which is actually very annoying but they can easily be switched off , from the Options menu of each application.

No matter you have an older computer or the latest in technology, backgrounds on your desktop will always make your browsing experience worse, try removing any wallpaper you may use. So from your Desktop Setting Tab choose the 'No background' option.

Registry Cleaning

Registry cleaner software. You can either purchase a software licence or you can always use the free trials. After the scan, make sure you let the registry cleaner software make the proper corrections.

You can also run the a weekly 'Disk Clean Up' from your System Tools Tab in your windows toolbar, if you are are using Windows as your operating system.

Most people already know most of these steps but some don`t at all and don`t even know what is actually happening to their computers, why they are running so slow. I have met people with the latest processors in technology and some of the greatest computer systems that have been complaining, this is much the reason I am writing this article, actually it`s not very hard to keep your computer in shape and at its greatest performances. Following these basic steps will definitely help you solve your computer`s issues.

Free Resources to Find Free Anti-Virus Software and Anti-Spy-wares

I personally prefer to use the latest version of AVG Anti-Virus, licenced, it offers a lot more features than the normal Free Edition and it comes with an Anti-Spy-ware solution as well. Norton Anti-Virus has been it`s greatest competitor, but both of them are reliable, cheap and per-formant, they recognise over 90% of the existent viruses, the cool part of it all is that when you purchase the licenced product they it includes automatic online updates, which will make the product stand out from the rest and give you the best results, tracking and eliminating your malicious viruses and spy-wares.

Where can I download software from ?

1. Registry Cleaner

2. Brothersoft

3. Download.com

I recommend using these sites, as they are say and the most complete resources for free and licenced soft-ware downloads. Never download soft-ware from other sources other than legit sites. In other words do not use torrents (peer-to-peer sites), file sharing software such as ODC++, and try to stay away from the pirate warez sites, some might charge you and never deliver your product. In addition to that the software they claim to be licenced does not have a licence in most of the cases.

Not everyone would like Linux. Windows is more for home use. I find linux a much better operating system than Windows in many ways, but regular people that just got used to Windows will never swap it for Linux.

LOL I built it originally like four years ago, but recently gave it a major facelift for $1500 - motherboard, processors, and memory... So I voted "recently"

And yeah, I keep it more or less clean of course :)

@misha - That`s great you upgraded your pc, 1500$ is quite a bit of cash. Any Laptops - notebooks ? :)

@pinoyclicks - Not really sure if I can handle to spare 50% of my hard disk but at least 10% is always available. I also have partitions, they are a must.

@weblog - You should not be anymore after you read this entire article, I will be updating it soon with some free tools and software that will keep your pc nice and clean.

@compu smart - I am using a dell Inspiron whenever I am off some-where, as for my desktop now is a Quad-Core 2.8 Ghz Dell. I love dell computers, and planning to buy a server soon. As for apple computers they are something that require time to handle, but not much in my case. :D MacBook Pro is the best product from apple, and the iMac desktop as well but that one is a bit too expensive for me at the moment, it`s around $3000 in most of the european countries.
