Planning To Retire in 20 Years Time

As A case study for this hub I would like to outline the steps that I am taking at the moment to ensure that when I retire form full time employment in 20 years time I will have enough income to live comfortably for 30 years.

This assumes that I retire at 64/65 and that I live until I am 95. I expect to get to a decent age as I am currently 44 and healthy.

A 20 Year Plan at Hubpages

Believe it or not, it is possible to make a reasonable amount of  income from adsense and affiliate marketing via blogs, there are people here who are doing exactly tht and who I've seen quote somewhere in the range of $500 - $1000 per month as income. If one person can achieve that level  then so can others.

I've given myself a time limit to get there using hubpages as a base. As I am 44 tomorrow and the time limit is one year from today I would expect to be generating the stated level of income within the next year.

Multiplying this by the 20 years I have available to write blogs and publish hubs it should be possible to generate a $500 - $1000 increase every year for the next 20. This would give me a total annual income when I retire of between $10,000 and $20,000. This translates into pounds sterling as approximately £7000 - £15,000 which will suppliment an existing private pension and a state pension.

Plan for Retirement By Writing Hubs

I am using this hub to set out some of my assumptions about income from hubpages over the next 20 years. At the moment I have a full time job and can realistically write one hub per week on average (usually on a sunday afternoon).

Assuming between 6000 and 10000 search volume per month for the main keywords and an average cost per click of $4 along with a top four position on google search which produces 25% of the available traffic to my hub. The figures look like this:

10,000 search volume

25% = 2,500 visitors to my hub

5% click through rate  on adsense = 125

Adsense payout is assumed to be 25% of the cost per click = $1

So my income from each hub is $125 per hub per month

I'm also assuming that I write 1 hub per week which pays and ranks at this level so my projected monthly income is 4 *$125 = $500

The only way to know for sure whether these assumptions are accurate is to find the keywords and write the hubs, then promote the hubs in a measured way to increase their search engine ranking. Time will tell and as I have mentioned I'm setting myself a time limit of one year to figure this out properly and consistantly
