How many sites have you seen advertised that keep telling you that they have placed yet another prospect under you? I know I have seen many, and I have joined many. When I have joined them I have seen my downline explode, WOW I think as I order my new car. I haven't even done anything, this is amazing. Every hour I logged in and scrolled down my members to see if anyone else apart from me had paid. A month or so later I started to realise that I was the only mug that was paying, everyone else was a free member and I had earnt zero. BUT HEY, I had a massive downline.

Does this sound familiar or was I the only mug with a worn out credit card?

Eventually I started to realize that I need a quality down line of people that knew that to earn a good income they have to do something and spend a little. So, my brain cells stated to work overtime and I looked around to see if I could find someone that can help without it costing me an arm and a leg.

I discovered a few people that were good at teaching you to sell Niche products or Information on a Niche. However, I didn't really know a lot of Niches and didn't fancy writing an ebook on the wonders of Knitting etc.

I liked the idea of Network Marketing and knew that many ordinary people got very rich at it. Logic told me that there must be a way to do it but all the companies I had joined hadn't found it. They said they had, but when I joined they all said the same. Tell your friends and family, buy the companies leads, pay out for Adsense, go to meetings, tell everyone you meet etc etc. I don't know about you, by I didn't do very well at any of this.

I then started hearing about Social Networking or Web 2.0 and how good it was. There were a few books on it (Which of course I bought) but I still wasn't any good at it. Something was missing. I learnt a bit about Digg, Stumble upon, You tube, ezines, traffic exchange, blogs, facebook etc., but to be honest I just got in a muddle. I would jump from one thing to another and realised that I had to be more organised.

Another thing I realised was that I had set up some of the sites incorrectly, so they were not as efficient as they should be. Back to the drawing board.

Now, don't let me put you off, you can do all this yourself, it isn't that difficult, you do have to write things (like this) but as long as you don't copy anyone you can get ideas from other people. You have to learn some simple codes so that you can link to other sites etc. You do need some time to spend on it, but if you are like me, it gets quite addictive and fun. You just need a bit of help.

The other big difference with social networking is that you must want to help the people who cantact you. This may be directly or via a website but if you want quality people you have to be a quality person yourself. And that is what I discovered. To succeed you need a keen downline and that means that you have to be able to help them. Of course you can only help them if you know what you are doing. So you have to learn. If you don't want to then Network Marketing or MLM is probably not for you.

So where do you get this elusive help? I thought you would never ask! You CAN do all this if you are prepared to learn. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not that good YET. But I know more than most people. But it is not me that is going to train you. I am just going to guide you if you get confused!
