In his book "How To Retire Rich" James O'Shaughnessymakes the point that to be rich is to be free.  It means having the freedom to do what you want, when you want to.  I could not agree more.  If you were rich, you would probably not be giving much thought to going to work tomorrow, or next week.

There are many people giving advice on how to be rich.  Some are worth listening to, and some are not. Nevertheless, it is important to think about retiring rich, if for no other reason than that rich is better than poor, and having the freedom that James O'shaughnessy refers to is better than not having any freedom at all.

Now, since I am no expert in stock trading, forex markets, or even in marketing, I am not the most qualified to give specific advise on what tools you should use to become rich upon retirement.  What I can say about the subject however, is this. You are not likely to retire rich unless at some point before retirement, you make very specific plans to become rich. Getting rich rarely happens by accident.

If a prerequisite for finding a way to retire richis an aforethought, then a prerequisite for this thought process is a renewing of your mind.  Most people embrace a poverty mentality.  They live a life of "I cannot afford it" or a life of "I could never be rich".  In fact, the way they think is most often the number one reason why we are poor.

I learned that I am what I think.  The bible declares that "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he".  If you think poor, you are not going to learn how to retire rich any time soon.  So becoming rich starts  in our minds. It is the way we think.  Obviously there are many ways to  become rich; too many to mention here, but most important is the way we think.

I would like to propose that if you want to retire rich, that you begin now to make changes in the way you think.  Find 5 good books, preferrably biographies, from which you can learn how to renew your mind.  You are going to have to move from poverty to wealth, and your current way of thinking is probably your worst enemy at this time.
