How Get Rid Of Ants In Your House
68ANTS !
No matter where you live, chances are at some point you have had a problem with ants. Ants are pesky little insects that seem to find their way wherever they want. My family and I were suffering from having ants in our home. Every time we thought they may be gone, we would look around to see one crawling across the floor. It is not that any of us were scared of ants or anything, just the idea of the little things crawling through our house, bedrooms, maybe the beds themselves was not pleasant.
Our First Failure
One day when we took a look in the attic, we found that the attic was infested with black ants. The only reason we discovered this is because we could here a scratching noise coming from the ceiling, which of course we found out was the ants in the insulation. Now just out of pure disgust and rushing without thinking much, our first attempt was insect foggers. What these are supposed to do is spray for a few minutes, than settle down into cracks and crevices and kill all insects within the area of its reach. At first we thought due to the high concentration of not one but three foggers that it may have worked, but it did not. In fact, this only aggravated the ants and made the problem worse. Each time we fogged them, they would just spread more rapidly and take over more areas. It was when we found 8-10 in one of our bedrooms within several hours that we really decided enough was enough and we HAD to find a way to get rid of them because clearly foggers wouldn't work. After hours and hours of searching we finally came across the solution. Borax !
The solution
The solution we found that most people use is borax. Borax is used in laundry and as a cleaning supplement. The idea behind taking down the ants using Borax is that they bring it back to the ant colony where all the ants consume it and all the ants die, instead of just the ones within the radius of a fogger or other poison.
In order to get this to work, you have to mix Borax with something sweet that the ants will want to take. Also remember you don't want to ratio of Borax to whatever you decide to use too be too great, or the ant might not even get it back to the colony. Most people tend to mix the Borax with sugar, however a lot of people we talked to in real life said they put the Borax straight and it works alright, so I suppose you can mess around with the ratio and see if straight Borax is too high or if it works. Either way, the clear answer in dealing with ants seems to be Borax, so if you have ant problems I strongly suggest you give this a try.
For the first week after places TONS of borax/sugar and straight borax around our house, we would find dead ants here or there. After that week we barely saw any, and like I said any we did see were dead. So in short, Borax takes care of ants, if you have ant problems than this could be that solution you are looking for. Good luck.
