How To Setup Google Apps for Your Domain Gmail To Access Gmail Offline
83How To Access Gmail with Google Apps Offline
Step one. Install Google Gears. Google gears is an application that acts like a communication layer between your physical computer and the website. Once this is installed, web applications that are compatible with Google gears will be able to work offline.
Step two. Login to your Google Apps for Your Domain control panel. You'll need to have administration privileges. Navigate to the domain settings tab. From there, you'll need to check the box for new services and pre release features. Save the settings.
Before going to step three, it's best to wait an hour or so. There seems to be a lag between enabling the new services and pre release features in you Google Apps for Your Domain account and having it propagate to all the user accounts.
Step three. Login to your personal Google Apps for Your Domain Gmail account. Click the settings in the upper right hand corner. Click the labs link. Next, enable offline access for Gmail. Save the settings.
Step four. Go to your Gmail for Google Apps inbox. There will be a link in the top right corner that says "offline". Click it and it will begin to sync your email so you have offline access to your Gmail.
After the syncing is complete, your setup for Google Apps for Gmail offline access is complete.
Now you can do email whenever you don't have access to the internet. Once you connect to the internet, your email will sync up and deliver the messages you did offline and sync up labels that have been added.
