In these times, many are looking to cut corners where they can without totally sacrifcing their lifestyle.  Here are a few habits that are usually helpful when it comes to stretching a dollar.

  1. Clip coupons
  2. Take advantage of rebate offers
  3. Buy non-perishable items at your local dollar store
  4. Grocery shop during the week
  5. Buy in bulk whenever possible
  6. DIY (Do It Yourself) (i.e. sewing, cooking, making functional crafts that can be used in the home)
  7. Recycle
  8. Buy store or generic brands
  9. Replace meat with beans, pasta or potato dishes as an entree
  10. Create lists (with a spending limit) and stick to it.
  11. Designate one day to do your shopping
  12. Try to get a friend or family member to go half in shopping expenses.

I think you should also add 'Don't shop when you are hungry.' People tend to buy more when hungry.
