Create Your Own Motivational Tools

I am trying a new technique in order to stay motivated and to enjoy my life and hopefully achieve the goals that I have set myself. I found a site called the Day Zero Project. There I read about the concept of creating your own list of 101 things or challenges that you set yourself. The time limit is 1001 days. This works out to roughly 2.5 years. The rules are fairly simple. Write down 101 things that you would like to do within this period of time. You can choose whatever you like as long as it is measurable and attainable.

Once you sit down and think of things you want to do, you may find, like I did, that it is difficult to come up with 101 different things. I have chosen to separate my list into different subject areas just to make it a little easier to organise. I decided to create a blog to help with my motivation and in order to record my experiences. You can check out my list of 101 things to do in 1001 Days. I am still trying to figure out what other things to put on my list to make it to 101 challenges.

My 101 List Of Challenges

My 101 things to do list includes something as simple as challenging myself to wear a skirt at least 3 times a week and silly indulgences like having a candle lit bath. These are simple challenges that are easily attainable. I have also included holiday destinations that I would like to visit (money permitting). A much harder challenge on my list is to have a baby. This is an interesting task as I am single at the moment and would definitely say that I am not financially secure (yet). But hey, I figure that I have almost three years to meet the man of my dreams and settle down etc so I am allowing myself to be optimistic. We all know that a lot can happen in that sort of time span.

Start Your Own List of 101 Things To Do in 1001 Days

Get out a pen and paper and just start jotting down the things that you would like to achieve in the next 3 years. Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to travel? Do you want to sort out and declutter your attic? Whatever it is, just write down everything that comes to mind.

Once your list is complete, be positive about achieving your little challenges. You have just taken your first steps to creating new life goals.  Good luck.

What a great idea! Then as you achieve those goals/challenges, you simply scratch them off the list. After a few months you can easily see at a glance how much you've accomplished.
