How To Prevent Asthmas Attacks Around The Home

Mold: Make sure there is no mold in your house or in the air you breath inside your house. Avoid humidifiers and being in humid weather.

Chlorine: Avoid drinking and breathing chlorine from pools and tap water.

Cleaning: Make sure you use all natural 'green' cleaning products. Use HEPA filters on your furnace and air conditioner, have HEPA air cleaners in bedrooms and use plants in your home to promote clean air.

Air Fresheners: Avoid air fresheners, scented candles, sprays with perfume, soaps with perfume, and scented laundry detergents. Avoid colognes.

Allergy Season: Try to stay indoors as much as possible, use HEPA air cleaners, close windows and do not hang dry clothes out side where pollen falls.

Bedding: Use hypo allergenic pillow covers and bed covers. These go on your bed before your sheets and pillow cases to reduce allergens. Be sure to use hypo-allergenic laundry soaps.

Ginkgo: Has shown to reduce asthmatic symptoms. Use Ginkgo teas or supplements.

Fish Oils (Omega): Anti-inflammatory,

Quercetin: Cell stabilizer to prevent the release of histamine into the system for those with allergic asthma.

Pets: Have pets groomed regularly and do not allow them to enter bedrooms. Clean regularly to avoid pet dander and hair.

Exercise: Exercise is good but always have your inhaler and medications with you or better yet a partner. Take it easy, do not over exert yourself. Pay attention to your breathing. Watch for signs of wheezing. Take your medication right away with any symptoms.

Foods And Supplements To Prevent Asthma Attacks

Omega 3’s, green leafy veggies, bananas (for beta carotene and magnesium), cooked orange veggies such as yams, sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots (for beta carotene), brazil nuts (for selenium).

Onions and garlic are a good anti-inflammatory.

Ginger reduces allergic reaction, an antihistamine to open air passages & relieve wheezing.

Avoid caffeine, salt, sugar, and tap water. Research has shown a significant reduction in asthmatic symptoms when these are avoided.

Reduce the consumption of arachidonic acid which is found in animal products such as dairy and meats. These are Inflammatory products that will commonly trigger asthma attacks. Go vegan, or simply greatly reduce the amount of animal products you eat.

Dairy products produce phlegm. Most people have food allergies or intolerance's to dairy anyway. Dairy and wheat are the most common food irritants for asthma sufferers.

Antioxidants are helpful for the reduction of inflammatory free radical. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is a great source of antioxidants. Antioxidants will help counteract inflammation created from breathing pollution.

Consume vitamins C, E, A, selenium and food groups know as carotenoids. Carotenoids are the pigment compounds that give many fruits and vegetables their vibrant colors.
