Many people have poor eye sight. Their vision goes from excellent as a child and slowly dwindles as they grow. They go see an optomotrist and are prescribed glasses or contact lenses. These tools help the individual see again with near perfect vision. However this is not doing anything to correct what problem the person may have but merely mask it. As more time goes by the prescription becomes stronger and stronger. The individual could have done some things a long time ago before their sight ever got to this point.

Professional athletes are now utilizing strength and conditioning techniques for their eyes in addition to the rest of their bodies. Baseball players are definitley benefiting from certain exercises as they are better able to track a fast moving ball.

While there are many exercises one can do, allow me to describe one which you can start with.

Step 1:

Most people have a ceiling fan in their homes. Ensure the fan is dusted and in proper working order.

Step 2:

Turn the fan on low speed.

Step 3:

With both eyes, find a point on one of the blades of the fan and follow it around in circles. Continue this for sixty seconds.

Step 4:

Close your right eye. Using your left eye, find a point on one of the blades of the fan and follow it around in circles. Continue this for sixty seconds.

Step 5:

Close your left eye. Using your right eye, find a point on one of the blades of the fan and follow it around in circles. Continue this for sixty seconds.

Step 6:

Reverse the direction the fan spins.

Step 7:

With both eyes, find a point on one of the blades of the fan and follow it around in circles. Continue this for sixty seconds.

Step 8:

Close your right eye. Using your left eye, find a point on one of the blades of the fan and follow it around in circles. Continue this for sixty seconds.

Step 9:

Close your left eye. Using your right eye, find a point on one of the blades of the fan and follow it around in circles. Continue this for sixty seconds.

Do these exercises 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. As following the blades becomes simple, increase the speed of the fan. You may add sets as you grow comfortable with this. Once you feel you have mastered this, turn out the lights in the room and plug in a strobe light. Start with the slowest speed and again work your way to the fastest speed of the fan and adding sets as necessary.

You may also supplement with an Omega 3- 6 supplement with Lutein and Vitamin A. This will help your recovery and nourish the cells in your eyes. Carrots are an exceptional food in which nourishes your eyes as well.

Enjoy and may your eye sight continue in the correct direction.
