How To Talk To Your Prospects - For Any Business
This is a question that goes through every business builders' minds. I don't know about you but before I learned how to do this I was always going around in circles not really getting the effective results I was working hard for.
Many people are under the wrong impression that knowing how to talk to your prospects is a special skill that only certain types of sales people can learn and master.
And that you would need to spend a lot of money and time going on courses.
Well I have an announcement for you and it will make your day...that is NOT true..!!
I have written this short article to reveal to you that you can learn this skill quite easily with a little practise and even better..It will not cost you a penny.!
Let me give you a scenario...You have a prospect that would like to know more about your offer..so you are going to talk to them on the phone...
(I have used this scenario because talking to prospects on the phone is a big hurdle and fear that many people have. But you can use this skill in any form of approach)
You have been given your script and have been assured that it works...
Right ok..you have listened to your sponsor, upline, trainer etc do it, rehearsed your script in a mirror and you now have enough confidence to do it for real.
You have dialled the number..you are excited yet nervous, your hands are sweating and your mouth has gone dry..the phone answers....and you start your script...but it didn't go how you thought it would, it was hard going because the prospect didn't say much it was like walking through treacle...they were very reserved and gave the impression they were not interested...but were they..?
Onto prospect number two..
You start to go through the script and the person wouldn't stop talking..you couldn't get a word in edge ways and you were not able to get anywhere with your script...but you had a very nice conversation..!! Was the prospect interested..?
Ok...now for prospect number three...
Again you start to go through the script and it ended up the prospect pitching you and dominating your phone call..! All they could talk about was how successful they were and how you should get with them blah, blah, blah; ego, ego, ego..!
Were they interested..? Possibly, if you knew how to talk to this person..!
Prospect number four...and by this time you are feeling very deflated and on the point of never picking up the phone again in your life..!
Right you've started the script...umm..this prospect seems to quite open and you are able to go through the script, You are building a repore with this person great..! But they are still not giving much information away and you are not sure where they are at. Suddenly the prospect seems to have switched off and you don't know why. This has thrown you and so the conversation soon ends. What happened that suddenly caused them to appear not be interested anymore..? Was it something you said.?
Yes it probably was..!
This all comes down to understanding what we call the four main personality types. Most of us know that what you say to one person could offend another and this is also true when it comes to business..I think you now realise how essential it is to know how to talk to your prospects
Not everyone has the same viewpoint in life and they certainly do not approach your business in the same way. People have different reasons why they have expressed an interest in your offer.
