When you think of tea parties, most times images of dainty tea cups, fancy finger sandwiches and petit fours come to mind. But for this type of party, you'll need tees of a different kind. As the name implies, this tee party is for women who love the game of golf. Challenging the notion that golf is for men, more and more women are enjoying a round or two with their girlfriends these days. So why not use it as the theme for your next gathering. Whether you're planning a party for your favorite foursome or you're celebrating a birthday, having a tee party for the girls is a great idea!

Location:

While a country club is the perfect location for your tee party, use this as an opportunity to try a new course or an exclusive one that you've always wanted to play. Get ready for a day of golfing fun for you and your guests.

Activities:

Golf, of course! Whether you're having a small gathering of friends or a group of avid golfers, they'll all enjoy a round. If time doesn't permit a full round, at least hit the back nine before or after lunch. Instead of offering prizes for the usual “hole in one”, give fun gifts for the most outrageous golf outfit or the most strokes to the hole.

Décor:

Sticking with the theme, infuse the entire room with green and accent it with another festive color, like pink, orange or yellow. They're cool combinations that can be used in your centerpieces, place settings and linen. Using golf ball place card holders will help make sure your guests can easily navigate the course to their seat. A golf flag with the honoree's name at each table is a great way to personalize the event. You can even cut green place mats into the shape of putting greens, which would perfectly complement these do-it-yourself sod centerpieces pictured here.

Food:

Prepare a light breakfast to enjoy just before your tee time and end the day with a fabulous lunch on the green. Make it a green affair by serving all green foods, like a salad of hearty greens, spinach soup, broccoli and chicken casserole or lime sorbet—there are so many good green foods, take your pick! Just be sure to serve some “iced tee.”

Take Aways:

In addition to the wonderful memories they'll have, be sure to have some golf party favors for them to take home. For a practical party favor, give a golf ball bottle opener or a sleeve of personalized golf balls. For a fun favor, try a cookie shaped like a golf bag or a putting green. Either way, it will be a sweet end to a sensational day.

Having a golf-themed party is also a great way to celebrate Women's Golf Month, which is June. But you don't have to wait until then to gather on the green.
