How to: Write ArticlesThat Excel

Knowing how to write articles that excel, is important to those who write for a living or for those who write just for their own enjoyment. Everyone who writes wants to be read, so let's find out how you can excel at writing pros or at writing copy for marketing purposes.

First let me tell you I am an internet marketing coach and guide. If you enjoy what you read here I would like to offer my services when you need help

In this article you will find seven different ways you can you can learn how to write articles that excel.

First let me tell you I am not an expert. I write because I enjoy writing. Here at Hub Pages I have written twenty four articles in the last twelve months. Not a lot by some standards, but I have written more than a hundred articles elsewhere on the Internet in the same time frame.

I have learned to write articles that excel. On hub pages alone I have twenty three articles, fifteen articles are on the first page of google, of those fifteen, thirteen are in the number one place on the page. Five of the fifteen have a google ranking.

I have a fledgling website with fourteen articles, all of which are on the the first page of google, Seven of those pages have a google ranking of from one to thirteen. This website has readers from twenty seven different countries.

I am not an expert, but I do get results. If your articles are not on the first or second page of google search results you are not getting the exposure you would like to have.

What to do before you start writing anything.

How to: # 1. You have an Idea in your head of what you want to write about. Hopefully it's a subject you are comfortable with. Do some research to get even more familiar with the subject.

Develop a theme for your article, and prepare an outline based on that theme. As you write stick to your outline and your theme. This is very important, we will discuss the reasons why later in this article.

Prepare a title [ Theme ] that is keyword rich and will draw the attention of your readers. The valuable keywords in your title will also draw the attention of the search engines.

How to write prose.

How to: #2. Writing prose [fiction, fantasy, science fiction, etc] I find to be more demanding than writing copy for business marketing. Each paragraph tends to be much longer and must stand alone, holding the readers attention and leading into the next action packed paragraph.

You will need to keep your reader interested or you will lose him or her to another author. That leads us to how to #3 which may be applied to writing prose also.

Some authors seem to babel. Never really saying anything interesting or valuable to their readers, these ones need to learn how to write articles that excel

Choose the kind of people you want to draw into your own group and write for them.

How to write for business [copy writing].

How to: #3 How to market your business {business copy writing]. Never, Ever try to sell your reader anything. Most people will walk away from a sales pitch, be it face to face with a salesman, telephone sales, or a written sales pitch.

The very best way to learn how to market your business is through a place called Marketing Merge. The university there teaches nearly everything there is to know about internet network marketing. It has one area dedicated to writing good copy that attracts people to you .

What you need to do, is draw attention to yourself as a business professional who is extremely knowledgeable about his business and his product and loves to share what he knows with others. Draw people to you and help them to see why they need to do business with you.

Supply your readers with valuable information they can use and they will be drawn to you and whatever it is you have to offer.

Learn the art of attracting people, it works better than selling. It's called attraction network marketing, and it works. There is a brand new e-book available entitled "The Attraction Marketers Manifesto" and it's free.

How to have your whole article read.

How to: #4 When considering How to write articles that excel, you need to make your article easy on the eyes, easy to read and interesting. Each paragraph should be short concise and loaded with value for your reader.

Examine this article and you will find no paragraph more than four lines in length. Except where a photo or advertising has been inserted after the article was written.

Examine other articles I have written and you will find that all the paragraphs are short with double spacing between each one.

Each paragraph should be no more than four lines in length, with lots of white space between them.

Think of some of the articles you enjoyed most. go back and re- read them, analyze what it was that made them so enjoyable to you. Try to incorporate some of those things into your own writing.

Some say that an article should be at least fifteen hundred words in length to be any good, or to have google pay attention to it.

That's great if you are writing a short story. For business copy writing it doesn't work well, because most people who are shopping for business information are in a hurry and want to find what they need fast.

Good business copy is from four hundred and fifty to seven hundred words long. The longer the article the more apt your reader is to hit the refresh button.

One exception. If each paragraph has good solid information that can be put to good use by your readers, longer articles like this one are more likely to be read to the very end.

Earlier we mentioned the importance of developing a theme and sticking to that theme. The theme of this article is How to write articles that excel. You have read this far because we have stuck to the theme. We have tried to explain here how to write articles that excel.

Without being obvious, try to repeat your theme, word for word, four to six times in the average length article. This accomplishes three things.

Number one, it helps you stick to your theme. Number two, it shows the search engine spiders you have stuck to you theme and they love that. Number three it keeps readers from hitting the refresh button because you won't be rambling away from your theme.

It is important that your theme be the title of your article and the subtitle as well. Your theme should be the first words in your first paragraph and it should also be included in your very last paragraph.

Stick to your theme and your readers will keep reading to the end, and the search engine spiders will love you. Before you know it you will be on the first page of google.

How to have your article searched by google.

How to: #5 Most people think that loading an article with keywords [tags] will get them better results. Nothing could farther from the truth, in fact too many keyword tags could hurt you [ google knows what you are doing].

Your title is very important and should be keyword rich. your title peaks the interest of the search engines and your readers. Your title should be your theme and it should be repeated throughout your article.

Every article should have a summary, a description of what your article contains. This is important because this is where the search engines look first for the search phrases that people are typing in when they are looking for what you have to offer. The title of your article must be included here also.

Here at hubpages under summary text there is a box that is checked allowing for an auto summary to be inserted, uncheck it and write your own summary. After all who knows what is in your article better than you do.

Be as descriptive in your summary as you can, because you never know what search phrases people will type into their search bar.

Your writing should be natural, Just as it would be if you were talking to good friends around the dinner table. If this is the case your writing will be filled with good naturally occurring keywords and phrases.

How to get your articles on the first page of google.

How to: #6 We have already touched on a number of things to do to get your article on the first page but here are a few more.

Read your own article and find five or six of your most valuable keywords or phrases and tag them. Then sit back and watch the search engines come knocking at your door. I have had articles go to the number one spot on google the day they were written, so can you. This article went to number one on google the day after it was published.

Another thing the search engines like, is an appropriate photo or two included in your article.

Find one or two articles about your subject that you have enjoyed and insert a link to them. It is prefferable that these articles not be your own. It shows the search engines that you are not greedy.

It is a good way to prove yourself to be a leader and make friends at the same time. Become a fan of the ones you like and they may become a fan of yours, it's a great way to get a lot more exposure.

If you have a blog with with content similar to your article you should insert a link to that also. The search engines like to see links to other places in your articles so use them

People spend tons of money for the sponsored spots at the top of the search engine results page. You can get there for free seventy five percent of the time if you do it right.

Proof read your article.

How to #7 Last but not least proof read what you write. Check your spelling and your grammar. Then have a trusted friend, your wife or your husband proof read it again. Then a day or two later you proof read it again,if you are satisfied then publish it.
