How Wal-Mart can bail out Wall Street and the Big 3

Who can bailout Wall St and the Big 3 besides the US taxpayers?

With all of this talk about Wall Street needing a bailout and now the Big 3 Auto Makers, it's making me wonder how we as taxpayers can afford this.

I don't know how about you, but my family has all the bills it needs. We don't need more added to what we already pay a month. And when Americans, taxpayers that is, make mistakes in our finances, I don't see Washington lining up to bail us out.

So, why are we having to bail out all of these people? And can we afford it? Do you have thousands of dollars sitting around ready to hand over to these people for mis-managing their money?

There are factories shutting down here quickly. As I wrote in another hub, our small town is dying fast. When factories shut down, and other places of employment do not open, then there's no money in circulation. The Trickle Down Effect, as Reagan called it. And it's trickled down to my house.

I know some people up north who have family members who work for the auto industry. I have a suggestion for them. Since it's going to take billions from taxpayers to keep them paid that huge salary they are making, send some of that work down here. We have factories sitting still here. People here would be more than happy to have a good job and would work for much less than the union jobs are paying. We need jobs and will gladly work.

We do not have thousands of dollars sitting around to hand over to the government to pay off rich men who have made mistakes in their money-making decisions. It feels like the government is paying certain people out of their misakes. What does this teach us?

It tells our children to do what they want, they don't have to take responsiblity for it. This is not a good lesson. That's how prisons are filled up today.

It's easy for the government to pay them billions because it doesn't come out of their pockets. It comes from ours. Their pockets are padded. We have to make our voices heard. Who will be next in line for our money? Credit card companies? We have to put a stop to this somehow.

Jobs first left America to go to China and Mexico, now they are just leaving. If Wal-Mart made the decision to use American-made products only, think of the good they would do. How many jobs would be brought back into the USA? Think of how that would help with inflation, unemployment, quality of good sold, and that would end up trickling to the DOW. Overall it would be great for our economy since Wal-Mart will not be leaving anytime soon and have run out so many mom and pop shops, seems the least they could do is to help the US economy.

Well, I have a suggestion as to who can come in and help with this problem. Since Wal-Mart has become so huge, and put many out of work, why can't they aid in this bailout situation if they HAVE to be bailed out? (I still don't think that we should bail them out.)

The following is why I say this:

HOW BIG IS WAL-MART? This should boggle your mind!! And scare you as well!

1 . At Wal-Mart, Americans spend $36,000,000 every hour of every day.

2 . This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private employer. And most can't speak English

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the World.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only 15 years.

8. During this same period, 31 Supermarket chains sought bankruptcy (including Winn-Dixie).

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 years ago.

11. This year, 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.

Help America, buy AMERICAN MADE whenever possible.

I may should have added in this that my sister-in-law and also some of my friends work at Wal-Mart, in this hub. I just didn't want anyone to think that I don't like the people who work there. It's the company I have a problem with.

I hear ya ASU. The biggest problem I had with trickles down economics is that when I saw mine coming it evaporated before I was able to grab hold of it. Greed has taken over this nation in a mighty way. It is not just the big companies either.

Pro 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

Pro 16:11 A just weight and balance are the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag are his work.

Great point SirDent. Wal-Mart is not the only one guilty. I guess I just feel their presence more since they are so huge in our town. Greed has a great toe-hold in our country. I never seemed to feel the trickle down part of the good part either, just the part we are feeling now, the negative part. But, I do feel that maybe this will be what brings us back to where we should be. Maybe we all need a self-check. Thank you!!

Well said!

Nevermind the "High Cost of Low Prices Film". It's a documentary, and therefore, very onesided. Although I don't dispute many truths in that film.

I think people should realize that the cost of saving pennies at a time is actually costing them dollars by the day when they continue to allow this type of behavior by corporate america.

RelSol1, Welcome. Thanks for reading and commenting. I totally agree with you. Saving a penny here and a penny there by buying things from China and other countries has cost the US so much. I wonder if people realize it. What you said is so true. Us saving pennies has cost us great debt to other countries that don't even like us and want to take us over, also it's cost many Americans jobs plus the pioson that comes with those cheaply made items. Too many think with their pocketbooks, and look that where that's gotten us. Maybe you should do a hub on this to wake people up. I think you'd do a great job! Thanks again!

hi allshookup, roger here, i love this hub, as much as i spend in that place i should have a partnership with them (ha!).  it is amazing to me how Walmart has taken over, and like sheep we get herded right along to do their bidding.  soon there will be no other stores around, they will be Walmart outlets, Walmart shoe stores, Walmart banks, Walmart restaurants with the sludge of the day (weeee!!!).  i can not stand the useless spending that our beloved leader is doing, he kept on saying he was going to share the wealth, well he sure as hell is doing it, but for someone else not us, and then insults us by sending us a small bowl of gravy train, while the big pigs get the New York strip steak.  now the little bit of gravy train is being taken back, because the IRS came out with new rules prior to us getting that little dribble, and i was reminded recently that our beloved Obummer popularity pole is at 69% in favor of his plan, i wonder where he stands now.  i have a hub that i made from a letter that i sent to my State Senator called Leveling the Field that i wish you would look at when you have the chance.  thanks again for the great hub.

roger
