How Will History Look at the Presidency of Barack Obama

President Barack Obama has made history and the history books will not neglect his accomplishments while in the Presidency. As the President of the United States for less than two months he has had more visibility to the public on accomplishing his campaign goals than the presidency of any president so far.

President Obama has taken the element of change to a different level having been elected by popular votes as well as electorial votes into the highest office in the world as the first African American President. His chapter in the history books will undoubtedly have two chapters entitled, "Yes We Can" and the "Change We Can Believe In." The nation has found out that President Barack Obama has hit the floor running in a heartfelt effort to thwart a recession that is causing rampant nationwide unemployment and economic struggling.

President Barack Obama has campaigned to get the  $787 Economic Stimulus Bill passed.   President Barack Obama got the bill through Congress with the support of  three Republicans, Ms. Collins, Ms. Snowe both of Maine and Mr. Specter of Pennsylvania. If President Barack Obama's recovery plan work as well as the $275 billion housing plan that was put in place to save homes from foreclosure, history would be pleased.  History will record that President Barack Obama was a proactive President who was not just full of eloquent rhetoric but delivered results.

History is factual information that is recorded to substantiate that action was done in the government realm.  History  records political actions to keep the country running on a progressive path to peace and prosperity economics, health care, international conflict and education. President Barack Obama, still a novice President, has accomplished the feat of history by delivering inspiring  and reassuring speeches to comfort to a nation of people who need the President of Hope to keep going. HIstory will not test President Barack Obama but will record a man of his words.  History will look at President Barack Obama as a family man who took his family on a journey to the White House for the love of his country and of the American people.

Currently, as President Barack Obama plans to cut the nation's deficit by one half before the end of his first term, history sees that he does not pass a few bills into law and then wait for the outcome. History will look at President Barack Obama as a noble countryman who truly does not want to leave his children with a debt that  can not be  paid. President Barack Obama has as part of his stimulus package a $2,500 tuition credit so that every American child will experience a college education.  History will record that President Barack Obama  made a significant change in the lives of young Americans who otherwise would not have had a chance to go to college.

President Barack Obama said that he did not feel like the president until he saw first hand the sacrifices made by the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. History will record that talk of the end of the war in Iraq did not begin until Barack Obama became President. History will record Barack Obama as the President of Hope who brought the troops home and helped stabilize the nation's economy with amazing optimism and love for his country and the American people.

The number one issue that faces our country today is the cost of health care. In the next few years it will be broke and break the back of the federal government. Remember the cold war with Russia? It was not a war but an economic collapse of a weak economy because of the funding of a war machine to keep up with the star war tecnology pushed by Regan and the United States. For Obama to remembered as a great president he must be a leader and not only solve the political issues of health care but truly push to solve the issues of the health care system that will destroy the economy of the United States. Obama must be a leader such as John F. kennedy when he made the statement that the United States will go to the moon not because it is easy but because it is hard. Kennedy did not have all the answers but because of his leadership the people who had the answers rallied behind him. Remember Obama is the first African American president but over time that just wont be enough to make him one of the great presidents.

It is a good article for public awareness. Health care and the issue of unemployment are the two major current issues before the people of America. The failure and success is directly related with the principle of activity and policy- administered by the office of President. No doubt, it is a great challenge, only time will tell the truth.

H P Roychoudhury, thank you for your comment. You are correct that time will tell about the feasibility of Obama's economic policies. Economic indicators are stating that the recession is over although unemployment is well over 10%. Government programs takes time to work out the problems from the previous presidential administration and the American people must understand that. Your comment is much appreciated.
