I have tried the "Best" placement and it is really working to help me make money really fast from Google AdSense.
In Hubpages, the AdSense placements are fixed and we can't make changes to it but I can say that the AdSense Ads placements placements are at the good place.
2. AdSense Contents Optimization:
Contents are the most important and vital part in order tom make money from Google AdSense. Creating unique and contents with high paying keywords can help you to make more money from Google AdSense.
For example:
You usually make $0.10 when people click on your AdSense Ads. If you can identify the high paying keywords of Google AdSense, you can make $10.00 per click.
So, try to find the best keywords that can help you double and triple your AdSense income.

3. The Secrets of AdSense eCPM:
What is eCPM:
eCPM is Effective Cost per 1000 Impressions or we can call it Effective Cost per thousand Impressions.
How to Calculate eCPM:
You can calculate the eCPM using the formula in the picture.
For Example: Now, you have $10.00 in your AdSense Account and you have total of 7000 impressions which make it 7 thousand impressions.
So, eCPM will be: $10.00/7= $1.43
Remember: Total Impressions is in thousands. If you have 10,000 impressions, then it will be 10 for the total impressions.
Altering the eCPM and Make More Money:
eCPM can be changed by testing different Ads format. You can try to observed the eCPM performance of different Ads format using "Custom Channels" in your AdSense Account. try out different Ads format and find the highest eCPM, stick to the Ads format that has highest eCPM.
Your potential to make more money from Google AdSense will increase.
4. Best AdSense Ads Format:
The best AdSense Ads format that helps AdSense Publishers make a lot of money is the large rectangle Ads format.
Personally, the best AdSense Ads format is large rectangle, red title, black description and black/blue/red URL. You can see the example in the picture.

I've been banned from AdSense just because my site was getting suddenly a traffic-boost (I created a lot of good content and found a few really good keywords and I certainly wouldn't dare to insult their policies.).
Other webmasters agreed to this, that they've been banned just when their site started to hit the monthly benchmark of $100, Google has banned them.
All the friendliest and nicest re-applies to Google does not help: they are "stone hearted, you have not a chance to justify or question really anything because they do not reveal their actual findings. You will be banned for life.
Does anybody know of worthy alternatives useable for non-US residents?

Perhaps you can add little information about filtering out MFA sites from appearing in adsense ads.
That will improve pay per click.
Also maintain a balance while tring to improve CTR. If there are too many ads users may leave the site.

Great article. I think it is also important to distinguish between keywords that are popular, and keywords that attract people who buy things. For example if focused on "at t wireless", you may get people looking for all types of topics related to that subject and not necessarily out to purchase something. However, if you concentrate on a particular model phone and AT&T Wireless, "Sony Ericsson Z750 at t wireless" and you have a review that is positive, the reader may be much more inclined to click on a ad related to the phone.

I'm thinking about implementing this on a CB Radios Websites.. I only get about 100 unique visitors a day, or approx 600 total pageviews daily.. I'm curious, say Adwords charges approx $1.0 per click what fraction of that $1.00 does Google actually pay to the Adsense webmaster that the click actually originated from., What is a typical click rate for say a 100 unique visitors and say 600 pageviews?

One thing you all need to be aware of is that if you run an ad campaign with google and you pause or even totally DELETE it - they WILL and do keep charging you!! They have been charging me for FOUR months now even though my account is Deleted, they did answer my email and said they would stop but they didn't.

As I know, some top blogger make a great lot of money from affiliate networks not adsense. But I admit that adsense is a real good income source for most of bloggers. I test it in last month and also try amazon affiliate networks. Finally, I got $350 from affiliate and just $9.09 from adsense. haha. I'm with Jersey Girl - I don't think much of this is relevant to hubPages. You only have 6 Hubs so you can't be earning that much on hubpages. Also the key to clicks and adsense earnings is Traffic. You don't seem to say much about that.

Well, that is all good an well, and certainly anyone who reads this site will have a much better understanding of what Adsense is and how Adsense works, but if I'm not mistaken, I believe I read some where, not to long ago, that Google was dropping the Adsense program. So before any of you run off and become experts on the subject, you might want to check with Google and see if what I read was correct, just a thought. Good luck.

Nice hub! I am fairly new to adsense and hubpages myself. I have 11 hubs so far but no comments yet (out of approximately 112 visits to my hubs) and haven't seen any earnings from adsense. Do I need a blog or website outside of HubPages in order to make any money from Adsense? Please let me know. Thanks!

In order to make money from AdSense, you will need a lot of traffic to your site. In my experience, Kontera is not as good as compared to AdSense. I am making extra using Kontera. :)

Finance, real estate, gambling, refinance, mortage lender, those are just a few keywords than can earn someone $10+ per click. It's not hard at all if you put in the time to learn the right keywords to use. But you have to have the traffic to get the money. I think that's the biggest obstacle to get over. Once the traffic is flowing, money is in the bank.

but just wanted to point out that the keywords you use as examples get NO TRAFFIC. Something like 1 click per day.
Maybe better references would be something like "debt consolidation" with thousands of searches a day and a cpc of $16 in search. A lot of competition but if you can get cheap traffic to funnel through your site, you're golden :)

It is possible to make good money from adsense. But most of the people are not even making 1$ a day from adsense forget about 100$ per day. To earn money from adsense you need a lot of traffic and that is the difficult part. There is too much competion for high paying ads. So going after them is not worth the time.
