I would not be afraid to contact your local police dept. or sheriff dept. Depending on where you live city or county they usually have someone assigned to investigate it, I would not stop there the 3 major credit reporting agencies have departments set up just for identity thief issues, and can even monitor your credit for a 6 months or 12 months just to be sure someone is not using your identity. Then I would go to some of the agencies listed in a recent Hub I wrote called "Report Scammers!
