How can writing about your emotional wounds heal the pain?

Writing about your emotional wounds can heal your pain in alot of ways, especially if you're going through something that you just don't want to talk about to anybody, then you have to get it out somehow and writing your thoughts on paper or even writing a poem about how you're feeling can help to get it out and make you feel better, otherwise if you just keep everything bottled up inside, you're like a ticking time bomb waiting to happen, because I have bottled things up and would just keep them bottled up until I would just go off on someone and start yelling at them or screaming at them which is not a good thing so like I said if there is something you just don't really want to talk to somebody about then just write a poem or write down your thoughts about how you're feeling and after that if feels like you have talked to somebody about it and it makes you feel better.
