How could this happen baby loses entire family

I was reading the newspaper the otherday and on the front page was a heart wreanching story. Three adults and two children were found murdered in their home. I turned to the page that had the full story. I started reading about a family and one person who was not related to the family. The family and their roommate were found deceased in their home last month. Amoung the adults that were found there were two children at the sceen, Also deceased. The police at first suspected that some one had broken into the home but there was no sign of it. Nothing was missing and nothing was out of place. The police were walking through the house when they heard a crying noise. One of the officers found a 15 month old baby that had survived the ordeal. (some of the details were held back) Ems and police stated that the hardest part of going to a sceen like this one was hard on everyone because it involved innocent children. The two children that were found were just small children.

The baby was taken from the sceen by an officer. One of the pictures showed an EMS worker crying beside their ambulance. One police officer who has been on the force for over 15 years stated that the hardest thing about attending this sceen was the fact that there were children involved. A few days ago another press relase came out in the newpaper about what had happend that night. The explaination that was given to the public about how the family and room mate died was; One of the persons that lived in the house was hearing voices. The person was stressed out and upset over something. The police ruled it a murder suicide. One comment that was not in the paper that I have formned in my mind is. If the adult who was hearing voices and upset was like this for a while how come they did not seek medical attention. I had more questions about it only because I thought about it.

The night before the incident the person called their parents and the parents were schedualed to come down the next day for a visit and help out. I feel bad for the parents who had watched the incident unfold on the news the next morning. I feel bad for the small baby who will never know who her family was. I also feel bad for the people who will have to explaine everything to the child when she is older. Reading this artical brought tears to my eyes and broke my heart. It broke my heart because children should not have to die before their lives begin. It did not matter if you have children or not I found that this story affected alot of people. My heart goes out to the parents of the family and to the men and women who arrived at the sceen. My heart also goes out to the baby who may or may not have seen or heard what had happend.

Stories like this one could have been avoided if only the person who was having these issues would have only sought medical help. Just my oppinion but if I was feeling depressed and wanted to hurt anyone I would pull myself away and get help before it esculated.
