Making money from Google Adsense is an option that every internet marketer have already tried and many of them have failed to make substantial money from Adsense as compared to other online programs.

The main reason for this is the way we treat Google Adsense and other types of sales oriented online programs. A webmaster often tries to promote an affiliate product whole heartedly as it generates more income from each sale whereas Google Adsense are thought to be an alternative to reduce losses or an additional source of income.

So, one reason why webmasters don't make much money with Google Adsense is there negative attitude, there own assumption that it can only serve as alternative income source.

Every webmaster or website owner who is looking for additional sources of online income administer Google Adsense Ads on there site, in the space which is otherwise blank space laying across the website. Google uses this space to show contextual advertisements for there Adword advertisers.

Contextual advertisement are ads related to subject or theme of the website and contents of that page. A page which is less focussed will often get ads which aren't related to the topic or niche. On the other hand website and webpages which are quiet focused will get ads which will show products or services which are highly relevant to that theme. This will increase users interest and experience. A targeted vistors will defintely love to see more options and alternatives in the form of an advertisement and is more likely to click on them to find more.

A focused page will not only attract more visitors to the site but will also stick them to website's contents and if they leave they'll leave for good. Such visitors will not only result in better Adsense CTR but also better sales and heavy cheque from Google.

How much money you make from Google Adsense depends on several factors. Each of which has to be considered in order to increase Google Adsense Income, especially by those for whom this is the only source of online income. Informational sites which do not sell any product or service and provide only guidance to there visitors on a topic fall under this category.

Some important factors that effect Adsense income are:

• Value of domain/website in Google's eye, reputed websites get high paying adsense ads then a normal unknown site.
• Quality of contents, quality of contents also decides which type of ads are displayed and how are they related to contents. Good contents usually result in high CTR.
  
• Source of traffic, type of traffic also plays an important role in deciding how much you earn from Google Adsense. Targeted traffic i.e. people who are really looking for more information on this topic, will not only read on page information but are more likely to even check out interesting ads, which means more income for the website.
• Title, description and meta tags, these not only play an important role in attracting more visitor, increasing search engine ranking but also helps in getting more relevant ads which helps in increasing adsense income.
• Webpage/Website design, this is also crucial in deciding its positive/negative effect on adsense income. A good desing will help in keeping a visitor for a longer duration while a poor design will repel a visitor.
• Topic/Niche, this is also a factor which decides how much money you make with Google Adsense. Some niches like technology etc help in making good money, while others like art aren't that helpful.
• Visitors from Social Networks, some sites are more socially networked then others, these sites get good traffic from these social networks but generally traffic from social networks is not a good source for increasing your adsense income. People from social networks are hardly interested in ads, they are usually interested in reading contents.
  
• Age of Website/Webpage, age or duration of time for which the page/site has been online also determines how much income/money one can earn from it. Site/pages which are old will definitely make more money then a simlar new webpage/website.
  

These are some of the factors that I understand and believe (and I've seen it myself) to effect Income from Google Adsense.

Using Google Adsense on any site can help in generating income, provided the site is able to attract visitors. If we have a good site, filled with quality and very helpful contents but no visitor to the site, then we cannot expect to make any money.

Even a good site will have to wait for visitors, traffic which is the basic requirement to get Google income rolling. No visitor simply means no income.

Although it is not possible that any good site (for that matter real hardwork) will not get visitors, definitely it will take some time before visitors start pouring in and during that time when the site is still getting propagated we cannot expect much from Google or Adsense.

Internet is really a good place for those who love to work hard in a corners of there homes or offices. Internet income is a reward for there selfless work and Google Adsense is a channel that can make it happen.
