How to regain self-esteem after depression

This is a tough one especially if you are still feeling depressed!

First of all, don't define yourself by an illness. You are not depression. You are a mother, father, child, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, and friend long before depression ever came in to your life and long after it leaves.

Your entire life will not be about those moments of sadness. They will be about the life you lead, the friend you were and the struggles you over came.

Understand that most people experience some level of depression at some time in their life.

Surround yourself with things and people that make you happy.

Put an effort in to love making again. If you don't have partner then do it on your own, in front of a mirror.:))

Exercise!!! Walk, run, ride your bike, go to the beach and walk a mile. Walking on the beach is exhausting but great for the legs and bottom.

Go and get a facial, get your nails done, and get that thing down below waxed.

Buy yourself something lovely to wear.

One day you will look back on your experience with depression, know how difficult it was, and be proud of yourself for surviving it. Not everyone does.

One day someone will come to you and ask "how do I regain my self esteem after depression?" and you will smile and say "that's a tough one"
