For me, making friends has always been easy as I am a very outgoing person. I think one of the first keys to this is that a person has to be somewhat outgoing and open to making and meeting new people. In this hub, we will look at a few different areas that you can work on in making new friends. We will also review how they will help you out.

Social Networks on the Internet:

Social networks such as Yuwie, Facebook, Myspace, and even ActiveRain is a great place to meet new people and interact. In these types of settings it takes a long time to get to know someone, but you can get on a personal level if you work at it. With the on-line networking, you can let your hair down so to speak and let your writing do the talking for you.

Social Clubs:

These clubs can be a local YMCA, or a gym, or a library,or a church gathering, or recreation club, or even your local country club. This gets you into an element of where you feel comfortable and puts you in a place with people that you are comfortable to be around. It allows for you to open up because you can relate to the people there.

Business Clubs:

Believe it or not, many friendships has been developed through this type of meeting. Belonging to you Home Owners Association, going to a PTA meeting, attending Chamber of Commerce functions. Any type of club or group that would allow for freedom of mingling with your fellow co workers or business type individuals.

Nightclubs, Pubs, and local bars:

This is the least of my favorites only because I never have know a whole lot of people outside the bar area. But, for some people, it works. You can meet, become friends, and remain friends for a long time. The bar sceen is usually a great place to relax and get to know the locals at too.

All in all, each of these areas has their benefits. You have to be open minded and relaxed to greet and meet new friends.
