How do you make a website? I have been trying for 5 weeks and it has not been working. I'm starting to get REALLY mad!!
52How do you make a web site? That is an interesting question. I've been working on building web sites for a few years now and can tell you it can be really easy or really hard. The key component would be to know what type of web site are you looking to build. Before I begin, let me state that what I'm going to do is pose a few questions about building a web site because these are fundamental if you want to build a site directly?
Do you have a general plan on what you want to do? As with just about everything in life, you have to plan things out accordingly. This is perhaps the hardest part of building a web site in the first place. If you think about it, you could go into it building a bunch of random pages with rhyme or reason only to see very few people even consider giving it a look. Trust me on that as it can happen. I've had it happen because I wasn't sure what I was going to do but sometime later I started planning sites out before I build them in order to get it right.
Where do you plan on hosting it when it is done? If it is something free and not requiring a lot of space, then your best bet would be something like Geocities or maybe Freewebs. Those sites right there can give you what you need in terms of just starting out. If you are looking to get a domain, it is going to cost money but it depends on what you need the most.
Learning to build a web site takes time and patience. If you have the patience, that's only half the battle in getting it together. The other half it takes is the willing to get through it and understand it. You don't need a lot of skills to get a basic site done. There are programs out there that you can use. For designing web sites, I recommend two programs that will get the jobs done but it will depend on your budget. One is called Dreamweaver and the other is called CSE HTML Validator. With that program, you learn how to build the site and the codes directly. Notepad is ok but I don't know if I would recommend it so much because of it not being a web-editing program.
I hope this answers your question. I have built web sites and if you need further help, I can try to find some time to help out if need be. Good luck in it.
