How is the golf score calcualted

Match play is a basic form of golf. Other forms of golf include Stroke play, Skins, Stableford scoring etc. Match play scoring system is not used much in men’s professional golf tournaments.

In the Match play system a player or a team earns a point for each time they hole a ball against their opponents score. The game is either played as a team or individually and the team or player with the lowest score wins the game.

If the two teams score same number of points it is called as halved or tied. Some times at a given point if the players lead is equal to the number of holes remaining in an event it is termed as Dormie.

The game is played until any one of the team increases its lead by a hole.
