How does one master the art of flirting and became a girls magnet?
59Pouring on the charm...
Flirting is indeed an art form, and unfortunately, some people never become accomplished artists. Here are a few tips and things to avoid. Though I've written this with the boys in mind, girls can use them as well.
1) Smell good. REALLY good. There is nothing more repulsive than the smell of nervous underarm odor. Strangely enough though, there are some smells that women actually like, and they don't come in a bottle. Sawdust, leather, diesel or engine oil, and clean sweat from working out top the list of natural smells that drive women nuts.
2) Resist the temptation to talk nonstop about yourself. It's self-centred and egotistical. By all means, share some information, such as hobbies, interests, etc., but the primary focus should be on HER. Act as though you are hanging on every word she says, and commit her answers to memory, because if she's interested, there'll be a quiz later.
3) Instead of the usual exchange of phone numbers (which most likely will be bogus if you creep her out), invite her to a public setting like a coffeeshop for more conversation. You can actually set a date this way, and she won't feel threatened.
4) Compliments!!!! Lay it on us. We want to hear why you noticed us (caution: this doesn't include the size or shape of our 'assets'-save that for later when you've developed a rapport/relationship).
5) Make eye contact. If you're looking around the room, at the ceiling, floor, other women, we'll assume you're not really interested in us. Eye contact should be warm and friendly. Don't creep us out by staring or looking right through us.
6) Women love a guy who can command the dance floor. If you were born with 3 left feet, take lessons. Stepping on her toes or convulsing like you're having a seizure won't win her over.
These are just a few basic suggestions. The rest is up to Mother Nature.

Hi Bettie,
I agree with confidence and humor, but faking intelligence? There are far too many people in the world who think they're smarter than they really are...of course, when they open their mouths, it's good for a laugh, so that might apply towards the sense of humor. *grin*

Yea I was (sort of) joking. I cant stand a man without some intelligence. If a guy cant turn me on with his mind, he wont be turning me on anywhere else either.
Sawdust, leather, diesel or engine oil, and clean sweat from working out top the list of natural smells that drive women nuts. But seriously though, why would girls be interested in these smells which have a high relationship to strong muscles? Are ladies not interested in soft-soft priest-like guys?
Hmmm, why would women be interested in anything related to strong muscles? Most likely because they're looking for MEN. As for the soft, priest-like guys, take heart in the fact that there's always someone out there who will be suited for you, but this article is about becoming a chic magnet, and the 'soft' guys will never have that kind of polarity.
On a very basic, subconscious level, women strive for men who are virile enough to produce, and strong enough to take care of her and any progeny. Anything that hints of strength and potency will attract women. Signs of weakness (i.e. 'soft') generally sends them running. Try going to the gym.

Another nice hub :)
Although I must disagree with you in your last comment. I don't consider myself to be soft, but I'm definitely not the masculine muscleman. And yet, without boasting, I'm quite successful at the game.
At the end of the day your level of success depends on the combination of factors, rather than the sum :)
I have always picked brains & personality over looks. My dad is always saying, "Youre too good looking to go out with such ugly guys." I just laugh. Ive never been attracted to pretty boys or athletic, muscular guys. At a party, you can find me in the corner talking to the glasses wearing guy with the corduroys on. :)
I dont know girls over here (Illinois) is very very picky when it comes down to picking a guy so i be very scared to come to school smelling like Oil or Sawdust I think a girl might like the smell of a good Bath.

Let me be the first to add to this list, hi there by the way! ;)
Confidence, we love it. A sense of humor, a must have. Intelligence, if you dont got it, fake it.
