It makes it much more efficient on one hand and also more complicated and sophisticated. The way it now looks like is that companies have large hubs of a series of warehouses at a few, limited number of countries, and they are supplemented by a larger number of smaller, country logistics centers in the countries the company operates in which are used to further distribute them to the placesĀ  the products are sold at. This process is further strengthened as the free internal market of the European Union formulated. Recently it can be observed that the new EU member states have attracted large foreign investments in the logistics infrastructure development.
