Thousands of people, men and women seek their perfect mate. You hear so many people lament that they have not yet found that perfect mate. The law of attraction really makes this very simple. Yet, many find it difficult.

To use the law of attraction, you must first understand how it works. The law of attraction is based on and works on the principle of like attracts like. So all you got to do is use that to your advantage.

Let me explain:

First make a list of qualities that you wish your perfect mate to have. Do you wish that he/she is- generous, loving, sharing, caring, accepts responsibility, nurturing, patient, rich, prosperous, successful, spiritual, healthy, independent, loves children, or loves reading etc.

Now, understanding that the law of attraction works on the "like attract like" principle, you must introspect to see if you yourself posses the qualities you desire in a mate. For example, if you want your perfect mate to be sharing, then find out if you yourself are a "sharing" person. If not, then you will not find that perfect mate. Or, if you are an impatient person, wanting a partner who is tolerant or patient, it is more likely that you will meet people like you who are impatient, and intolerant. In short, once you have made out your list of desirable qualities in a mate, work on yourself to inculcate those in your own persona- for like will attract like.

Another way of understanding this "like attracts like" is - ask yourself- am I my perfect mate? Would I choose a person like me to be my mate- if you don't then who else will? Many people realise at this point that they do not feel that they are perfect mate material and so obviously they are still looking for one! Or they discover that have low self esteem, and that needs to be worked upon first.

Also make out a list of physical attributes you desire in a mate: do you want him/her to be tall, good-looking, attractive, long hair, short hair, color of the eyes etc. make your list as detailed as possible, so you have a CLEAR picture of the complete person in your mind- that is the physical attributes and the emotional, mental and intangible qualities you want your mate to posses.

Next, visualize that you are already with your perfect mate, spending time with him/her in ways that you both enjoy.

It is also very important to know why you want to find a mate:

Do you want a mate so that you can be "complete" or so that you have a companion and not feel lonely- then you can rest assured that what you are looking for is a co-dependent mate. You have to feel happy with yourself as you are now, perfect, whole, and complete and be happy to be with yourself, only then will you find someone who is happy with you. If you look for a mate while you feel lonely inside, let me tell you, you will continue to feel lonely or end up with a equally unhappy lonely person! - like attracts like remember?

Finally, give thanks to the universe for sending you your perfect mate like they already exist in your life, even if he or she is still an idea in your mind. Heartfelt gratitude makes your desire manifest faster.

If you at any point in time feel that "Hey! I'm doing all of this, and yet nobody has shown up" or wonder if this will work- you are effectively blocking the arrival of that person in your life.

Another important aspect of this is to make space or room in your life and home now, already, for your mate to arrive. Free up some drawers, cupboard space for their things. Also make time in your schedule for them. This sends out a powerful signal to the universe saying that you are ready for it.

Having done all this, all you need to do is let go of any attachment to the outcome, and wait patiently for your perfect mate to show up, and they will.

 (Important: do not resist what you do not like, let it pass without emotion, for if you resist strongly- it creates an emotional charge that will attract to you what you do not want- or the type of mate you do not want.)
