You've been dating a guy for absolutely ages, but all of a sudden you get insecure. What do you, in order to stay secure in the relationship?

Steps

  1. Talk to your guy. Tell him that you sometimes feel insecure, and that you do love him. Any guy worth his salt will at least listen to you.
  2. Accept him as he is. If you truly care about him and he truly cares about you, you should be able to accept each other as you are.
  3. Don't worry. If you've been with him for over 6 months, he obviously likes you a lot - otherwise why would he be dating you? Therefore, you shouldn't worry too much about what he does with the lads. If, however, he cheats on you whilst with the lads, ditch him. Fast. You deserve to be respected.

Tips

  • Be calm, and listen to his opinion as well.
  • If he doesn't seem too bothered about it, and says that he wouldn't leave you etc etc, trust him. As the article mentioned, he wouldn't be with you if he didn't like you.

Warnings

  • Don't accept it if he chats up other girls, dates other girls besides you etc whilst you two are dating. You are his girlfriend, and he should treat you with respect.
  • If he gets violent when you talk to him about how you feel, get out fast. Go somewhere safe and stay there. It's just not safe to stay with a partner who becomes violent. Consider reporting it to the police; even if you don't press charges at the time, having reports on file can help you if you ever do decide to press charges or get a restraining order.
