You can improve your health but only you can improve your health. No magazine ad offering a half off membership fee at your local gym wil make you healthier unless you are determine to get healthier.
The first thing that you need to do is to visit your family doctor and get expert advice on what you need to do to become healthier. If you know that you should limit certain foods that are bad for you, then you are the only one who can refrain from being the culprit into the house. Before you visit the doctor, you should make sure that you are eating your fruits and vegetables. When he ask you what you have been digesting, you can truthfully say that you have been trying to eat healthier. There is nothing quite like getting the doctor's approval to get you started on the right track.
You will also be more confident when you get on the scale and get weighed by the nurse. You will not have to be concerned about taking off layers of clothing when you are weighed. Also with this new found confidence of taking care of yourself in the doctor's presence, you will have the impetus to stay on your weight loss program. You can also be healthier by using other channels instead of food to rid yourself of stress. Learn how to handles stress healthier with an exercise routine. If the boss stress you out, do not head for the nearest vending machine. Head for the school walking track. Do not get angry, get into that next lower sized garment that you saw at the mall. There are myriad ways of combating stress that causes you to overeat, but again, only you know the catalyst that causes you to eat.
Do not think that because it looks like obesity runs in the family that you have to be overweight or unhealthy. You need to learn that you are an individual and it is up to you to control your eating habits. Plan on getting a compliment from them on your drive to lose weight and to be healthy. Only you can break away from the unhealthy habit of eating because of stressful situations. You know all the rules of good health that include the age old two words diet and exercise. There are no short cuts to good health unless you want to make those late night infomercial merchants rich off of untruths.
