Prepair Your Hair for Braid Hair Extensions With Short Hair

The cost of extensions is getting more and more expensive, as is having your hair extensions done by a professional hair stylist. To braid your hair extensions at home, you’ll need human or synthetic hair, apple cider vinegar, four hair clips, a braid comb that has a long, pointed handle and braid sealer.

First prepare the hair by washing it and then conditioning it thoroughly. Dry your hair. If you’re using synthetic hair, it needs to be soaked in hot water with some apple cider vinegar in it to remove the acrylic coating. If you’re using human hair just was the extensions and dry them naturally, so that they become soft and easy to use.

How to Braid Your Hair

Section your hair into four parts, in a way that is most easy for you to handle. Clip three sections and move them out of the way. On the single unclipped section, make a square with your hair that is one inch or even less, if you prefer. This is the section you’re going to braid. If you want the braids to be extra small, then you need a 1/8 inch braid section. Individual braids themselves can be as large as one inch. Once you have your braid section, clip the remaining hair away from your braid section.

Take a small strand of the extension hair and hold it around the section of braid hair. Leave one side of the extension with a 3 inch overhang on the left side, at least. Now you will see your hair in the middle, with the extension on the left side. Begin braiding by first pulling the hair and extension tight. Move your hair over the extension so that your hair goes onto the left side now. Move the middle piece, which is the extension, right piece of braid section, so that the new middle section goes over the left. Your hair section will now be in the middle. Continue this process until you have gone down the entire length of your braid section. When you get to the end of your hair strand, take a small piece of extension once more and incorporate them once again into your hair section. Keep braiding your hair in this manner until all your hair is braided.

If you finish the braid and it is a micro braid, then you must end it in a slipknot. To do this, remove two synthetic strands away from the main section. Once it is out of the braid, take it over two of your fingers, over the braid and through the hole that will be created between your fingers and the braid. Pulling on the two strands will tighten it. Repeat this process ten times to secure the braid in place. If you have individual braids, then dip the extension in hot boiling water, rolling in the fingers so as to seal. You can also use a glue gun or an electric sealer. With careful care, your extensions can last a month or maybe more.
