Making Your Pathway Look Great

Do you ever walk on pathways in gardens and feel like you are walking on a secret pathway or at least one that has been there for a very long time?  I love those pathways.  They seem to somehow release you from the world.   Well there are also the pathways that don't seem to do anything but get in the way, if you know what I mean.  They don't seem to be well thought out and almost just there because the gardener had to put something down.  Those types of pathways do more to detract from the garden experience then to add to it.  This article and video will help you create pathways that will add to your landscape.

There are a few things to know that will make laying out random shaped stones much simpler and give them a very "together" look.  One thing I did not mention in the video is what to do when you are trying to lay a bunch of stones together as a transition from one section to the other.  More of a patio effect then a stone pathway.  The important thing to remember in that case is to lay your larger stones at the outside of your design and use the smaller pieces in the middle.

The video shows you the rest.  I shot this video in the middle of a project we were doing in Atlanta, Georgia.  It was a residential landscape project and you can see the whole project from beginning to end here.  Arbor & Turf Landscape Project.

Enjoy the video and if you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to leave them below.
