It seems like every corner you turn, there is a new "foolproof system" that will make you successful overnight. Many of the network marketing gurus claim you need to have a system, or at least be working within a system.

Guess what...they're right! You really should have a marketing system or structure to work within so that you can organize and manage what you are doing.

When I first got involved in network marketing, my "system" consisted of writing down a list of 100 people I know, approaching (or should I say "attacking") anyone within 3 feet of me, buying countless company sales products, having home parties, etc. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Then, I had the great fortune of meeting my mentor, Jeff Weissman, who taught me a real marketing system. I cannot tell you how relieved I was to hear that I could throw away my list of 100". Now, thanks to Jeff and his guidance, I have a marketing system that works...and it can work for you too.

There are 4 Steps every marketer must follow in order to grow his or her business. They are:

Step 1: Understand the benefit(s) of what you're marketing.

Step 2: Identify your target audience, ie; those who are looking for the benefits your product delivers.

Step 3: Create a marketing message that will attract the people in your target audience.

Step 4: Use the tools of communication to get your message in front of your target audience.
