What is Super Mario RPG
Super Mario RPG is the final Super Mario Bros. installment on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Its full title: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It is an RPG style game, the first for the Mario series and was helmed in development by Legend of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto. While the SNES title did not have a sequel on any new Nintendo console, it led the way for such game as Paper Mario. The character of Geno, from Super Mario RPG, also appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga but is credited to its creators at Square Enix as opposed to Nintendo of America who developed the game.

The Legend of the Seven Stars can be played three ways nowadays: Via cartridge, via the Wii Shop Channel or via emulation software. The latter is illegal, so avoiding it is the easiest way to stay out of trouble online. However, thanks to the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console, you can purchase Super Mario RPG for download so you can play anytime you want. It is 800 Wii Points and can be played with the Classic Controller. If you are looking for a hardcopy SNES cartridge for the game, you can find it online via sites like eBay and if you are lucky, at garage sales or video game stores.
