Now this cute animal is easily to be found and purchased in the animals’ shops.
However, the problem is how to choose a good hamster and in accordance with our desires. There are a few things to notice before buying a hamster, the type, age, characteristics of healthy hamster, and the type of  its sex.

A. Selecting The Type         


a. Syrian Hamster

Price Syrian hamster are relatively inexpensive, but it requires more difficult treatment compared with other types of hamster. This hamster has a large body so that the pen requires a larger, more food, and dust will be more often. If you include those who diligently cared for the animals, Syrian hamster can be a choice given the diversity of color and ease of this animal is domesticated.

b. Campbell hamster Russia

It’s a tiny hamster and can be found easily. The size of the body is relatively small and does not require a great place. Campbell hamster Russia is more difficult to be domesticated and more aggressive than other types of hamster.
However, it does not mean impossible to tame this animal. Only required the patience and time.


c. Winter white Russian hamster

Hamster is the mini hamster tune that most beginners, even the children are easily domesticated. Hamster is a certain kind of face-friendly place that does not require a large and a lot of food.

However, this animal has only two variations of color, namely white and grey.

d. Robovski hamster

It’s very popular type of hamsters.  This hamster is wanted by many animal lovers because of its small size and its unique form.

B. Hamster age

I recommend for choosing a hamster aged between 4 to 10 weeks. At the age of this animal is still young and are more easily domesticated. In addition, the young hamster will be more easily adapt to another hamster.

But if you have chosen hamsters aged above 10 weeks, you should have an experiment first.  If they’re not matching each other, you need to separate them.

Observed for several minutes. If there is discrepancy, you should choose another hamster. Do not buy a hamster under the age of 4 weeks because it’s too risk for its healthy.
In addition to have a high risk of death, the hamster too quickly separated from the mother will suffer malnutrition due to lack of breastfeeding. Needs of the mother breastfeeding can not be replaced with dairy milk.
